People have died from bananas before, but I don't think I've ever heard of a case like that...
Of course, what makes this story really strange is how she's survived things a lot worse than that.

I guess she really wasn't that well-liked to be mocked like that on her death. Even if it is a joke.

Well, the article states that she was "treasured" by her community, and even she made light of the incident on her death bed.

I think she and everyone else knew this was coming for a long time, and thus had plenty of time to come to terms with it and be prepared. If she had just up and died without warning, I think it would've been a different story.
