Because it doesn't need to be generic.

Basically a revival of what Music Games thread was minus everything else. Post anything related to SM, DDR, ITG, PIU, etc. etc. and so forth. (can't cuz cpu said other threads)

As for Stepmania, I don't have much anything to report right about now, but I am working towards getting some more stuff done towards Dancing Stage Ultimix 4 and the most recent simfile that I did for it was...

If you want video I can get one fron an Osu! beatmap I have >.>

If not, just find an image you like an I can just fix it in Photoshop/Flash


As for striving towards the topic, I'm gonna need a DDR mat or to find out how to convert this USB controller to a sturdy wooden dance pad before I can really play again... Using the keyboard is just too annoying for me...

Make sure that the controller in question allows mapping off the axes. If you don't, you won't be able to do such things as UP+DOWN or LEFT+RIGHT.

You guys wouldn't be interested in an SM tutorial to actually MAKE these sims, would you? I've been poking around the idea of that in text of vid for the basics for some time...

Very carefully.

Honestly, there's a lot of shit to cover but there's only so much in the basics that you can really cover before you have to say 'this is really all there is to it...the fact of the matter is, like with music, it's all up to you...the key is that people will say it sucks if you don't know what you're writing'.

There's really no specific RIGHT or WRONG about simming, unfortunately. I still grab hell from people because I may be biased on any given song in one way or another and they'll think it sucks. You CANNOT appease to everyone regardless of what you write...it's kind of like people and music regardless. You're not going to hear of everyone liking classical and you're not going to hear everyone liking rap or any other genre completely. I'm sure showtunes would be the way to go for EVERYONE...
