Columns 3 Hard Mode, unassisted

These videos use annotations to give the video flavor that you don't get from just watching. If you're not sure how Columns 3 works, but have a good idea of how Columns in general plays, you can also watch these to get a vague idea (although just watching the demo would be better)

I try to provide some entertainment here and there as well with my comments, as well as some interesting bits on strategy and other things.

Comments are always welcome, so feel free to tell me how much I suck.

Nice vids . You're a lot better than I am at this.

Nice to seesome chains I've never thought of, and all the new gameplay elements on this. I liked the first Columns a lot when I had it and used to play it most of the time.

That reminds me, I gotta play Columns 3 sometime .

I beat it, but not before grinding BMF's 5 and 1 keys into a fine powder.

Aparrently the entire premise of the game is getting the best spot in a play, which makes it all the more moronic.

Oh, that and if you don't use your attack/defend charge fast enough it fizzles away, which becomes COMPLETELY FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE later on.


(Oh, try Stack Columns too, it has a wonderful ending and the computer outright cheats)

The annotations in the first video are (sadly) screwed up since Youtube is a pain in the ass.

The sound quality is going to be fixed after part3's done, whenever that is.

The annotations feature is really cool and I am learning about stuff in Links Awakening that I didn't have a clue about. Also, Tail Cave in 5 minutes? nice.(Usually I take my time, and then suck on the boss >_<)

Rather interesting to watch. I kind of like the annotations better than voice and you don't have to deal with people complaining about your voice or something dumb like that. Also learned some interesting stuff like EP said. Was there anything in that unused chest?

Chests are set on a room-by-room basis, so even if you stuff 10 chests into a room they'll all have the same item.

(This is actually how one of the puzzles later in the game works... 5 x 20R, and since it only saves a "chest opened" flag for one room, all of them will be opened if you exit after opening any)

reminds me of that one LttP Puzzle in Kakariko village. out of the 4 chests in that room, if you open just a few, thy will all be empty(At least I think they will) when you try to reset the blocks in that room.

These are fun to watch, and I've actually learned quite a bit more about Link's Awakening. (Most of it was hacking related, though.) I've never seen annotations used in a way that hasn't bugged me before, so it's nice to see that somebody has made good use of them.
Also, I think I've spotted a mistake. The tree west of Tail Cave has a secret seashell in it, not a fairy. I even dug out a screenshot to make sure I wasn't mistaken.

Fun fact: If I remember correctly, at 6:48 in part 3, the boss does not speak those lines in the original.
