Using the 64-bit version, will switch to most updated version if they have it there for me to use :p

I'll stick to Opera thank you. As many memories I have of Firefox, Opera just seems to hold me in it's arms at night.

The border on the left is gone in the beta I am using, and also, it doesn't do that "furthest to the left" in the beta I am using either. You lose

I'm pretty sure Opera has almost always gone to the previously-used tab when you close one (or at least has an option for it) ... Firefox, on the other hand, always goes to the right-most tab, which makes your argument seem a bit stupid.

Also, who knows? It's just like every other Firefox thing: HELP SPREAD FIREFOX; EVERYTHING ELSE IS EVIL AND MUST BE DEMOLISHED.

It's like a virus, honestly.

Edit: Actually, it's rather disgusting that people are willing to spend all this time "pledging downloads" or "spreading the news" when there are far more worthwhile things that could be done.

Then again I guess anything above "clicking a button" is too hard for most people.

I don't think it's that bad. And it's certainly not a bad browser to use. I'll do it, don't know if I'll actually use it, as FireFox 2 is fine for me right now, but hell, maybe I'll like it.

The official date for the launch of Firefox 3 is June 17, 2008. Join our community and this effort by pledging today.
5 days until 1 million people (including myself) download Firefox 3

I didn't bother with Firefox 2 here since it wasn't enough of an upgrade over 1.5 (new look for tabs, spellcheck, then what, security?), but this time there actually seems to be an improvement

I think it's pretty cool Brazil is on the top5. I can be proud of at least one thing in this country.
Opera is still superior, but some things piss me off:

- Opera 9.whatever compared to 7.54 has HUGE memory usage. It's like firefox except not as bad
- Opera crashes when it runs out of cache space
- Tab switching. Every program that supports tabs should allow tab switching by using ctrl/alt+number.
- Lack of extensions. Widgets suck.

Still, when it comes to rendering, Opera beats FF anytime. Also for memory usage, download manager, tabs, etc.

I remember reading somewhere that extension support was coming in Opera 10. I'm not sure where or even when I read that, but it'd make sense.

Opera's eating 110M of memory right now, but that's mostly because I told it to since it isn't like I don't have about 1 GB of RAM sitting idle all the time anyway.

Yeah, I don't know what they changed in the code. Check 7.54. It works wonders even in super old machines like mine (1200mhz).

Since when is 1200 MHz super old? 200 MHz, maybe...

Super old? Not 200 Mhz.

50 MHz. 486 Territory.

200 MHz was about a Pentium MMX, which occurred in the 1993-ish era. Although that's 15 years ago, the super old stuff (I.E., borderline unusuable) really occurs in the original Pentium-486 era.

However I have been able to run mIRC, notepad, Windows 3.11, and 16-bit equivalents of the programs I use today on it...

So even then it may require something truly worthless to fail at computing.

Heh, the point where I started paying attention to computers specs was on a 200 MHz Pentium MMX... I remember looking at computer magazines when the Pentium 2 came out and being angry that Intel would release something better than what I had Last time I used that computer I was able to run Firefox ~1.5 alright, though it was slow and I switched back to Firebird 0.7...

A 486 is just ancient, though... Though I suppose even that is better than the original PC- 8088, at 4.77 MHz... try to get anything done on that

I had a 286 for a good while into 200X (it was dismantled sometime in 2004, I think), complete with working turbo button

(Which actually doubled the CPU speed, from 10MHz to 20)

I have a computer that has a turbo button. It stopped working a few years ago, but while it did work, the turbo button was always on . (300MHz --> 433MHz)
