There's no way someone would kill themselves over being made fun of. There has to be a deeper psychological issue tied around the teasing.

Yea, I was just about to say that. We're not here to babysit your kid.

When you enter a forum/chat room you need to understand that you're about to talk to people. Not normal people though, but people who feel safe due to the fact that they can remain anonymous online. This means they can do or say whatever the hell they want without restriction. If you don't understand that as a parent, then keep your damn kid off the net.

So the kid liked emo music and people hated him for that. Does it matter? They're miles away from him. In fact, they're merely words on a screen. He should have been able to handle it like the rest of us. (I'm sure we do it everyday) It's obvious that the kid had mental issues before he got online.

If someone can't mentally apprehend and handle the thought that someone out there may hate them, then they need to find some help. It is a life skill to be able to take mocks and scoffs and either block them or transform them into constructive criticism.

Teenagers annoy me so damn much. Whining about every little thing (oh I want to stab someone now she rejected me BAAAWWWW), blowing things out of proportion...

I can see that I'm being a bit harsh about this, I guess, but it really gets to me, how people can just avoid thinking by that much.

Meh. Maybe I'm just making too much out of this, but whatever. A bit sad that someone would take text so seriously...

Anyways, whenever I read stories like this, I always wonder why the people over the internet say things like this. Isn't it proper "netiquette" to be as polite as possible?

Still, there's also the fact that his school and parents should teach him better about independance and watch over him and his internet usage more, but I guess it's easier to hate the "bad guy" than the "good guy's" family, isn't it?

Way I see it, if the person's getting hell in real life for being the person he/she is only to get hell on the only place they may find solace, an immature mind would commit suicide against something like that if they were surrounded by the fact that 'they suck'.

That's really the unfortunate truth...and most people don't really realize that when they're assholes in either real life or on the net, sometimes there ARE people that take it way too seriously because, mentally, they're getting bashed from every angle anyways and they don't know whether it is a joke or not.

Most people would rather just blow that off anyways because then they don't have any fun. Screw the one person who couldn't take a joke, etc. and so forth.
