Look who finally decides to show up! An English web page for the Dragon Quest IV/V/VI remakes...

Not much there yet. Except the DQ4 part claiming a release date in September 2008.

Rocket Slime was the first DQ game I liked myself, 8 didn't appeal to me. The DS version of 4 seems good from what I've played of it though.

To think this would happen over 5 years after the DQ6 fan translation had stalled at like 95% or something. YAY!

You never played any of the first three?

At least play the original. Speed up your emulator and it'll be done in a couple of hours.

Never thought I'd promote this series.

It's just somehow DQ4 DS rubbed me the right way. Like Pokemon did, it's arguably my favorite RPG. And I don't even otherwise enjoy monster collecting.

So the DQ ones are upcoming games I'm looking forward to. Madden 09 as well (but that's going off topic).

First three? Not really. The last time I saw DQ1 for sale, skipped over it. Then was gone a few weeks later.

Dragon Warrior Quest was the first RPG I ever played (and owned), I also played 2 and 3 on the NES when they were new, and later 4 on emulator


And while it's nice to know there'll be remakes for 4 to 6 ... no news about Dragon Quest 9? That's been announced for Nintendo DS as well, over a year ago

It's due out sometime in 2008. So let's say March 2009, sounds about right.

Given how the DQ4 rom includes a partial English translation, there was a high chance of it coming here. 5 and 6 are no-brainers since they never received a release here (although Nintendo Power was VERY hopeful about 6 getting a release but it was too late in the SNES lifespan for that).
