You're never too old to be a member of a forum as long as you contribute relevant information to the discussion/subject matter. A 70 year old could post on a Pokémon forum and as long as he has a real interest in the subject matter (and he's not just a kiddie fiddler) then what's the problem, really?

I joined forums at the age of 11, but at that time I made more sense than, say, Machead. Additionally, I stayed in forums with people around my age, so it wasn't so grating.

There is no 'too old', however there is too young. It's just not a concrete number, and based upon forum and maturity level.

Unfortunately, Machead, you seem to be a bit too young to understand this forum at the moment, I'd suggest coming back in at least two years. Personally, I joined this style forum at the age of, eh, about 14-15, when I was old enough to avoid making a mess in them.

I remember finding Supercheats.com at around 7 years old (playing Banjo-Kazooie ), but never joined until I was about 9. I used to just visit boards about games that I liked, but always ended up going to the Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon board. After staying there for a while, there was an announcement about needing to apply new moderators.

Guess what I did?

I was accepted a week later, thinking that it was going to be cool and fun, but being as young as I was, I didn't know that moderating was a real job. Still, I never did end up using my powers; I went to my aunt's house for vacation for a week, and by the time I got back home, I had forgotten my password!

...Long story short, machead253, you should either wait until you mature a bit more (like Metal_Man88 said, about 2 years), or at least know very well what you're doing. You don't want to get banned for nothing, do you?

And Electrometer Prime, which forum is that?

EDIT: I just went back, and I ended up remembering my password. Seems like there are still posts made by my account, one of many masters, from 2005, that weren't deleted or purged! Frankly, I'm surprised at how helpful I was (although I misspelled "occasionly").

I first joined a forum when I was 12. I was an idiot when I joined. I didn't really post much, but in between posts I matured and I was able to post and follow the forum rules. I still didn't post much .

Machead253, before people consider you an idiot, mature a bit and come back in about 2 years (like Metal_Man said).

Like with Acmlm's Board, this is one of those more general purpose boards. There isn't really a specific topic the majority of posts are focused on. Which makes it different from places such as gamefaqs.

I don't personally know anyone here, but I've been around some of them online for around 7 years now. The community is special in a way. I'd miss it if not here.

As for you Machead253, I suggest lurking and pay close attention to what people react well to or not. Typically bans have clear reasons. A sincere apology can help in a misunderstanding or accidental ban, but it's something not to take lightly. One needs to be very coherent in their explanation and show noticeable maturity in that case.

I joined Acmlm's at the tender age of 21. Hmm..but I could have sworn it was 20. I think I remember making a 21st thread. OMG my memory is not so good. See, when you get to be my age, you really don't care anymore. Actually, it could have been another Acmlm-type board since I was reluctant to join the main one for a while. So lets say I started out when I was 20. Either way, the way I see it, its a good way to kill time and if there's at least a few people left on a board that one likes to communicate with...who the hell cares of the age. Hell, Imajin's sister was, what, 8 years old when she started to post?

When I first got the internet in grade 6 I started to join message boards. Back then I had no idea what I was doing, I'd occasionally post in the wrong forum or make an off topic or pointless post. I don't think that there is any age that is to old for forums but I believe that there should be a minimum.

Aww, you guys are babys.....i mean, i love the smw+ series and i think that this is kinda easy..a real challenge is smw+3 wich i beat! Not much hard stuff....except the ocasional jumping at the right time thing......i played this for 20 minutes and got to the snowy level at the top.
Oh, and MetaRidly...... lay off ok....don't be so harsh. It's not boring. And i thought the cloud part was a nice touch.

I agree that too old isn't a problem, as long as the person is, well, not stupid. Too young is a problem though. I remember joining the first board I did when I was around 10 years old, I was pretty bad at first, but not nearly as bad as some people, also, I was mortally afraid of saying the wrong thing, because the rules list scared my 10 year old brain.
