I wonder if it's maybe the game itself, then? :x

Where'd you get ST2, anyway? I've had terrible luck finding it on ebay...

Need to get a SFC at some point to play Chougi Ranbu Hen, though.

Uh, you can just remove the pins in the cartridge slot; there's no lockout aside from that.

You mean the plastic tabs, I would not recommend removing any PINS from the cartridge slot if you plan on playing any games

All of my systems work okay...my Super Famicom and 2nd gen SNES both work like new, I guess I always just take good care of things ._. Famicom works pretty okay as well...

The only system of mine that is going is the N64, and, I think it has everything to do with someone breaking off the heat vent slots on the side and bottom. Crap probably worked its way in to it I was not pleased about that, at all.. the thing takes several attempts to turn on and sometimes erases the controller pack in the process if I'm not careful (third party though, so, maybe that is why). Poor thing might just be about to die. I loved the N64 too I guess its time to shop around for another

I'd say that's definitely contributing to it; my luck with third-party N64 products was not exactly good. What kind is it?

It was this one ("Performance" brand). I had the official Nintendo brand packs when I was younger and they never gave me a lot of troubles unlike these ones. But these are the only ones I can find any more.

I have an SNES (this kind, except it didn't include Yoshi's Island ) which is basically in perfect working order. The only thing is that the official power cord became worn (from being stuck under a rolling chair leg by accident) so I had to throw it out and get one of those unofficial "NES/Genesis/SNES" power cables. Everything else is fine, though. Occasionally I have to take a cottonswab/alkyhawl combo or a can of compressed air-duster to some of the carts, but it's about fine.

Except that over half of my games suck.
Games list in order of awesome-to-shit:
Super Mario World
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose!
Super Mario Kart
Speedy Gonzales y Los Gatos Bandidos <-- Not an incredible game but it's good in its own right
Pink Panther: Pink Goes to Hollywood <--- Ditto from the above
Kirby's Avalanche <-- I'm not a big PuyoPop fan, so...
Monopoly
Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Scooby-Doo Mystery
Jeopardy
Wheel of Fortune Deluxe Edition
The Ren and Stimpy Show: Time Warp
Addams' Family Values
The Billiards Congress of America Presents Championship Pool <-- ...

Yep, I'm familiar with them. Of all my N64 third-party items, those were the ones I had the worst luck with.

I've got one of those. It's one of the four-in-one memory units, so even less reliable...
