So I'm on the bus this morning and some kid is one and goes "Yo check out this phone I stole". Turns out that he works the carts outside of Stop and Shop. Well, he found a purse, took the money and the phone inside. He then takes the phone out on the bus and shows some kids. He thinks that he should try and use the MircoSD on his own phone but can't get it to fit (Even though he just had to turn it around) so I tell him "Let me see it I can tell you what's on it.". He gives it to me, I put it in my phone, there is a shitload of pictures of dogs and some guy, and then a bong and a picture of clothed tits. So I show it to him, and then say "Thanks for the MicroSD". Now he wanted it back, but he of course knew as well as I did, that he stole it in the first place, so me stealing it from him isn't exactly something he can do anything about.

So yes, if you steal something, don't show it off you moron.

Hope the guy that was originally stole from doesn't track your ass down though out of spite from that kid who initially stole the phone just to go back to the guy and go 'hey that guy janked your card and pitched your phone '.

In that case, two wrongs = no right.

Realistically speaking, sell it on eBay if you can't use it.

I'll be using this MicroSD card, and there is really no way of proving anything now that it's been formatted and whatnot. I could say it's mere coincidence right

Yea, I agree with Shion. Just because the stupid kid stole it doesn't make it right for you to steal it. (not that there is anything that can be done about it anyways)

You should've turned the kid in. One less thug stealing jobs from the grownups that actually need them.

I considered it, but I bet he's already sold it or something.

I would of tried to grab a picture of the idiot with the phone, played on his vanity.
(Then dropped off a picture at the local police station with his name and the crime on the back.)

Of course I swap between lawful/chaotic good/intelligent/stupid. So meh.

Was this phone.... decent? Camera? MP3? I mean, was the damn phone even worth stealing or did he just do it to show off?

I really don't expect a kid that stole something like that to not try to show it off. If that kid gets caught by the person he stole the cell phone from, I expect a long conversation with the kid, trying to find out where the MicroSD card went. It's also partly the person's fault for forgetting to take the purse.

The kid probably needed to get turned in for doing that.

Being the Lawful Good person I am, I'd probably covertly turn it in and get him in trouble, then (within reason) try to return the camera to the owner.

Evil never wins! When other people work to stop it...

The phone actually blew. I mean, it didn't look that great, but when you opened it there was no SIM card in site, leaving me to believe it was some built-in thing, considering when you went to Account Details on the phone it brought you to the web and whatnot. It was some verizon phone that flipped two ways.

That phone.

Verizon phones wouldn't have a SIM card anyway- only GSM phones would (which is essentially every carrier on Earth except for Verizon, Sprint, and Alltel).

Talking about thieves, once a friend and I were standing at a bus stop waiting for the bus and all of a sudden a person rides their bike right by us and grabs my friend's PSP right out of his hand and keeps on riding. Of course we weren't able to catch him and when we yelled to some people up ahead to stop him they just stood there and did nothing. I'm happy that I wasn't playing my DS

Anyway what you did wasn't that bad, no stealing is good although at least you weren't the initial thief .

I figured if I gave it back to the kid he was just going to try and sell it. So I took a neutral standpoint and kept it. Sure I could have brought it to the cops, but in the end, the people would most likely be like "What would I do with it with no phone" and by then the kid would have ditched the phone or something similar or the people could just buy a new phone which usually comes with a MicroSD nowadays or has an option for like $10 extra to get a deal on one. It's like, if you saw $10 on the ground strapped to a picture of the potential owner. Oh, and I also had another reason for not wanting to give this back to the owner in the first place...They had pictures of their bongs and pot, and I don't exactly support pot heads.

While what you did isn't entirely justified, it's not very wise to flash around stolen goods to your pals. Also, why would you take a picture of your bong?

I would've just taken the MicroSD (and anything else of obvious and untracable value e.g. cash), if presented with such an oppertunity.

As long as all the data on the card's wiped, who's to know? Especially since it's already stolen.

Stealing the phone itself is pointless. Some phones have built-in GPS (or similar) that is enabled by default anyway, not to mention any calls are somewhat tracable... add to that the fact that there's not much use to a crappy phone like that (no easy way to change the number), and well...

and I don't exactly support pot heads.

Do you have any problems with cigarettes and/or alcohol? Just curious.

Cigarette smokers bother me, but when it really comes down to it I don't mind it because it doesn't ruin peoples lives before they live it (More later on in life), where as pot can ruin you the minute you smoke it just by getting caught doing it. Alchohol I'm ok with also, because A) I drink it and B) it's when you drink too much that a problem arises. But, so long as you are confined and don't do anything stupid once you get drunk (Or form a drinking problem), then sure go ahead and drink and I have no problem with drinkers or drunks. I dislike pot smokers because I have seen friends get lost to it, and because it's a waste of money for something that you use once and then have problems finding more of. If you want a short hop of fun where you have your mind warped, then do something more legal, like drink yourself silly. I always get the "But you pirate everything under the sun, Corey." line, but I honestly don't care. I'm aware of my problems and habits, and sure I would like to fix them, but I can't. It's like I smoked the pot of internet piracy and now I'm hooked and can't stop, waiting for the first legal maneuver to stop me. This is why I don't support pot smokers.

Oh now you know you could stop if you REALLY wanted to. But with piracy its more like why stop? If your morals are in the place where you would be fine pirating in the first place, they aren't likely to change anytime soon to the point where you would want to stop. And yes I'm in the same boat of pirating everything under the sun to the point where I guess I'm hopelessly addicted too. The point is I don't really care. I've never really considered pirating stuff to be a bad habit or an addiction, and if you want to classify it as that, smoking pot is still a far worse one to the point where I really can't even relate the 2. Pirating stuff is more like casual stealing, like taking money you found in the street or like keeping the SD card actually. If you pirate all the time, it just means you're morally okay with the grey area of casual stealing, to the point where you'll continue to do it as long as it's easy enough and there is no consequence to you. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're addicted to it. An addiction would be more like if you became a clepto, or started putting yourself at real risk and making real sacrifices to yourself just to pirate. Then the habit has gone out of control.

So basically you're against it because GeneriGovernment says it's bad.
That's some, uh, interesting logic, there.

Alchohol I'm ok with also, because A) I drink it
...yet you're 17, which makes that (effectively) illegal.

Um.
