After hours of work, the most convoluted Fraxy boss ever created is FINISHED!!! Say hello to the Akido Battlemaster Mk I, a very unique boss that'll keep you guessing until the very end.

So, my ISP screwed up again and the internet at home is out. Until it comes back, none of my Fraxy ships are going to be accessible.

EDIT http://fraxycompendium.pbwiki.com/Other+Fraxy+Compilations+and+Projects Third entry in the list just made my day

EDIT2: internet is back.

Sigh, apparently some of the people on the FraxyCompendium wiki don't understand good boss design. Over half of the bosses I've fought so far (~35):
  • are so fast they're gone before they appear practically
  • are impossible to beat without using the shield
  • spawn on top of you
  • cause massive lag
  • have 999999999999hp parts/cores

It's freakin' ridiculous.

All my ships are up! I touched up a few of them before uploading, so you'll want to redownload these if you haven't already:

-Treasure Ship (big improvement)
-Arwing
-lolwut (important, otherwise won't spawn right)
-Orbiter
-Poltergeist (crucial, as it won't work with the latest version otherwise)
-Assassin (crucial, same reason as Poltergeist)
-Halberd Mini (small improvement)
-Crossfire Hurricane (made efficient with script editor)
-Pagosu (fixed gun timing)

Guess what? That's right, we've got a brand new version of Fraxy today. Download here

Here's what's changed (translation courtesy of blackhole89):
Updating of the manuals isn't entirely done yet
in relationship to events:
- the name of the "destroyed" condition was renamed to "destroying"/(more accurate translation is "in the process of being destroyed")
Up to that point, no further changes to conditions.
That condition is valid from the point the HP hit zero to the object being removed from screen
- added a new condition named "destroyed"
That condition is only valid in the glimpse the object is being erased from screen
- something about a change towards "event special creation" being after event execution I don't entirely understand
- added "delete if conditions aren't fulfilled" to said "event special creation/setup"
in relationship to the editor:
- removed some bug in related to adding a display flag for deleted parts
- fixed a bug with something like "not being able to load the core normally when data is currently being edited while loading"
in relationship to parts:
- added four new parts named "thruster device"
the same as the present "booster", but there's no effect when they trigger
- added three new parts named "sonic wave"
(can't be assed to translate literally/word-by-word anymore) they work like lasers, but push the player back rather than doing any damage
- added eight new parts named "X degree rotating joint"; available degree numbers are 15-30-45-60-90-120-150-180
- fixed bugs related to event-controlling the blade (hit effects remaining, not fading etc.) in an ad-hoc/half-assed/temporary manner
- fixed the name of the "small rotating 30-60 degree joints" to read the same thing with 15-30 degrees
- renamed filename of the "laser" parts
- changed parameters of "big core 2"
- changed parameters of "booster small"
others:
- removed some temp plug solution for a frame skew occuring when you time events by frame number
- changed the collision detection of the blade
- other small changes
----
I found a few horrible mistakes when reviewing the added parts.
(nothing too important there, just him rambling about mistakes like the "small booster 2" being faster than "booster 2")
Cirvante says the remote blast is slightly messed up graphically, I haven't looked myself though yet.
<Cirvante> and no, disappearing bullets not fixed

Hooray! Just checked out the new parts and they are great. The new enemy ship Clock Prison is awesome as well.

And yes, Remote Blast is totally borked. It fires out a constant stream of crosshairs that lags the computer greatly the longer it lasts.

Anyway, I made some new ships! Hoorah!

Attack Carrier v2

An improved version of the Attack Carrier using scripts. Now, fighting it will go much more like in Star Fox 64.

Dark Matter

A recreation of the final boss of Kirby's Dreamland 3. Thanks to scripts, the battle doesn't end when Dark Matter is destroyed.

Mandala Star

A ship made just a while ago to play with the new joints. It doesn't move, but its attacks have a huge range and are pretty fast.

Yeah, the remote blast gets stuck on frame 0 and if you skip that frame then it won't attack, rendering it useless.

I'm back in the game, woo~

EUF/S-414.2 Alétheia (Truth)

Developed in the late 2280s by a conclave of weapons and aviation companies, most notably Xassault GmbH and Leafen AG, this aerial assault platform quickly entered service in the European Union. A key player in Operation Troia, the victory against the SHION in 2297, a fleet of merely four Alétheias were enough to bring down their heavy battlecruisers, the SHS-14 Heimdallr and the SHS-44 Vishnu.

Loosely based on the Arkbird from Ace Combat 0, its main armaments are its high-power Minovsky particle beam, and a free-aiming 50-barrel 160mm spreader cannon. Frontal armaments consist of several regular and armor-piercing 160mm cannons, EMP mines, and plasma-cavitation AIM-44 Fireball radar-tracking missiles. The weak point is the back, where its three self-repair modules are; no defenses are stationed there, and the only thing that could catch an enemy off-guard is the spreader. Revisions on the original design are currently being made to address these issues.

Cirvy:
The Aleth was a great boss, challenging but not frustrating, nicely designed and executed.
I didn't like the Touhou-style enemy if only because it's impossible to get within 50 miles of it and survive (it's literally impossible without the shield).
Also, edit your post and put the updated links in.

Crawler Doubler
I tend to give weird names to my ships for some reason. This is no different.
By the power vested in me, you must destroy all visible weapons to defeat the Fighter Core.
(There is also that red flashy thing, I had to do that in a method or auto destruct would occur.)

I'm back!

Zephis recently acted on their plans to invade the nearby sparsely-populated Zeta system. Unfortunately, their recon was grossly inadequate. Enemy ships and defense structures appeared as if from nowhere, quickly overwhelming the Zephan forces with their superior numbers. Many of the ships disappeared as fast as they appeared, making Theralian hit-and-run attacks look like the work of a child. Only one installation was adequately observed long enough for Zephan scientists to understand its basic operation...

Zeta Beam Platform
The technology behind this installation is not fully understood, but Zephan scientists have been able to approximately estimate its function for their training simulations. Their primary defense appeared to be somehow fading out of existence with a nearby platform taking its place, but that could have simply been skillful maneuvering. Though normally immobile, the Zeta Beam Platform is capable of movement, and often demonstrates this in a prolonged fight.

It is also believed to carry a powerful repair module and some sort of shield mechanism.

Artificial Spellcard #002: Cosmic Force -Starlight Ripple-

Four gravity fields constantly pulling every which way amidst a storm of large bullets and rings. This should prove interesting >:)

Note that all you need to do is survive; thanks to the magic of variables, it disappears after 70 waves of power balls have been fired.

Download

Artificial Spellcard #003: Stellar Spiral -Galaxy of Illusions-

OH MY GAH BULLET HELL D:

While this wouldn't be a problem for an avid danmaku player (and a sufficiently small hitbox), Fraxy physics will make this battle slightly infuriating if you approach it head-on. As with the other one, stay alive long enough and it'll self-destruct.

Stuff!

For starters, I slightly updated Attack Carrier v2. Just small visual touch-up. Nothing that actually alters the battle.

Stalker

This thing slowly closes in on your ship. It will only open its impenetrable outer shell when it is sitting right next to you. However, that's when it starts charging up its weapons. Uh... pretend blasters don't work on it.

Finally,

Arwing player ship!

I might make a Wolfen one, too.

Haha Peardian awesome Arwing, I'm using it now.
Make some player-ship bullet changes too, the current ones are rather boring.

I suggest;
A= Set the endurance to an unused variable at the start, prepare second variable
B= While closed, the endurance is replaced with a -1
C= When it opens, change the endurance with your first variable, then turn on the second variable to prevent this from repeating.
D= While open, any changes to durability should reroute and change the variable as well.
E= When it closes, the second variable resets, and durability swaps back to -1.

I leave it to you to figure out how to set it up. (You may have thought this out already, I don't know. But I posted up anyways.)

Not bad, but it's a tad boring without any sound. Even if you can't record the game's sound, you could always just add one in with movie maker or something.

...I think. I've never actually worked with video files before.

Actually I have a way to record the sound I think (Cirvante gave me the idea) so I'll see if it works tomorrow (my computer is due to stop working for the rest of the day soon ).
