Length notwitshtanding, poetry is much harder to write than prose period, be it scholarly or otherwise. Double that if you have to make it rhyme as well.

I have to write a fifteen-page paper by Friday on an excessively vague topic (Basically "Write an essay about yourself. Involve this completely random book. But you don't have to involve the book directly, but the book should be involved. Go."), I've had the past few weeks to do it, and haven't even bothered on any of it (well, I read the book).

Of course, if I know this teacher correctly, he'll probably not read anything but the first and last page, as essays corrected in that class so far seem to have red ink only at the beginning and end...
