....pisses me off. So I was going to buy this game, only on the Ps2 (at least thats what they say, but who know, we might be able to download it off of XBA soon enough), for a good amount of $52.99. 30 songs from the 80's, sure, it'll be fun. I played it the other day, beat all songs on medium, and, well, that was it. Its the same venue as GH2, less characters to choose from, no unlockable songs, no new characters to unlock. Just 30 songs. IMO, not worth $50, no freaking way. Maybe $30, $40 might be pushing it, but not $50. Sure, some of the songs were fun to play and there were moments of, "Oh, I remember that song!!" but I'd rather wait for GH3 and maybe Rockband.

Never been a fan of Guitar Hero. I did play it a while ago but as I was playing it I realized that I heard maybe 5 songs before on the first one. Even then, I play music games for their variety and... Guitar Hero seemed to rely too heavily on liscenses to have that variety I like. With new original songs it'd be better.

I see this one as no surprise either that it is just more songs. Its a business move. Guitar Hero = cash. The mainstream players love it for songs they have heard.

Meh, guess its not my thing, really. I could do very well at first too just for experience in other music games (Stepmania especially). I like a game I can progress, not already do well and just need to master. =\

I was just talking about this with a friend last night and said it wasn't worth the one or two good songs for $50. I'm going to wait for the price drop. And because I already have GH1 for PS2 with two guitars, I'm not buying 3 or 2 on Xbox360 (Even though it has Iron Maiden's The Trooper ) I will just grab them for PS2 (WHY IS THREE COMING OUT ON PS2 SONY, YOU LIKE KILLING THE PS3 DONT YOU )

But yeah, GH2 is a must right now, then I'm going to get GH3 for the insane battle mode (Broken string for the win), and when 80's drops significantly in price, I'll pick that up.

Which reminds me, what is the cheapest way to get custom songs on the game? I'm sure that way I could get The Trooper and all those other songs from the Xbox360 version.

To be honest, I've never played any GH and nobody I know has it, so I'm pretty much stuck (because of no money). BUT if I DO have money, I know I won't buy this one =D

I was thinking about buying it until I saw the set list. A few songs (Hold on Loosely, Round and Round, Lonely is the Night, and No One Like You) are probably the only songs I would play.

On GH2, I've only got 1 song left to 5 star on hard (Carry Me Home) and 4 songs on expert, not counting bonus songs.

Rockband looks amazing.
I'm not getting a 360 also, I'm not taking the moving job for the $300, so I'll have to get a job for it.

But hey, I just learned from my newspaper that if you buy Guitar Hero 2 or Rock's The 80's at Best Buy, they give you a $15 gift card for the store and 80's only costs $40! That way, it's only $25!

I might have to pick it up.

I just play the Guitar Freak, and Percussion Freak that is linked to it at Scandia with a friend.

Guitar Hero bugs me because it's so popular, but nobody touches the Guitar Arcade Machine at my Scandia...

... and if they made a PS2 guitar Freak over here, everyone would call it a Guitar Hero rippoff...

I'm rather glad that Red Octane is no more (or at least, that's what the boy at my EB games told me,) seeing as everything I've seen come out by them was a complete remake of Konami Bemani titles...

So what if they're better.

And so what if I enjoy in the groove.

No what it is is that the group (Harmonix) that did Guitar Hero 1 and 2 quit and are making Rock Band while some other company took Guitar Hero over.

This is why I'm just waiting for Rock Band and/or GH III. Probably Rock Band if I can get my friends to hork over some cash for it.
