The Problem with Software Registration is a really interesting look on this idea. And I agree with this method of supporting programmers. Too bad I can't follow through until I get a job. (No-script will be getting quite a few dollars.)

This is why I try to avoid shareware (with trial periods, that is) in general.

Also, I absolutely hate how you have to go through a whole registration process with Vista's programs like Word. Why pay to use a software that was perfectly fine before that they just screwed up?
