Taking only the top 7 posters (those with over 2000) you get a total of 19,888 posts! (That's almost 1/3 of the board posts, interestingly.)
The top 48 posters all have over 300 posts (299 for #49 and 284 for #50), and the total postcount of the board is 62112 (62113 after this post).
We have just over 20k posts less than board2, and about 1/2 the views of board2.

So really, how can we not have enough posting?

The first guy's posts are so high due to the fact he has an automatic process which posts news stories onto the board, FYI

..

Anyway, my point is that another board's rate of posting does not work as a post quality vs. quantity barometer. The only way for it to work would be if we had a very similar amount of members and their posts mostly quality. Hence, by your reasoning, our posting rate would be too much, requiring spam to go as far as it has now.

The flaw with this is that Board2 has different members and a different amount are active, and you'd have to go through measuring the quality of their posts just as you would here before you could accurately compare.

The best way to tell if there's too much posting, truthfully, is to look for many spam topics and topics which are constantly spammed in which have tons of pages. Looking at VGF, you can find those and easily detect excessive posting.

Wheras here, sans maaaybe Town Square, and some Pothole country stuff, there aren't many. Not to mention that there's only a handfull of active members at a time, often posting in their niches, hence being more likely to post content than post count spammers posting everywhere.

It takes a long time for me to reach large numbers, or when I do it's on usually a board without visible total post counts like GameFAQs. I've got over 1,000 at GBAtemp.

Probably a lot if I added up those on Acmlm's Board and somewhat related ones like this as well.
