I plugged this vacuum in to clean the rec room. Once I turned it on, the entire room lost power. All the computers shut off and so did basically everything. It was somewhat funny and annoying at the same time.

How powerful can it be that it blows a fuse?

I've seen a blown light bulb trip a breaker before. On a couple of occasions.

You sure it's not defective? Or maybe your house's wiring blows?

A short on a leg can blow a breaker, not just a fuse.

I should know. I've wired a leg on a 115V start switch on a console before and took out half a room up here at work because I wired neutral and hot together with Y connects...so when the switch was activated, it would do loop short and FWOOP. It just tripped a breaker...but a wire short could probably do the same thing.

Ours dims the lights a bit, depends on where we plug it in...

I blew out my fuse with a 5 watt lightbulb.

So, yeah, it's easy to do.
