This sums up yet another failure of it.

Article text follows:

In the past two weeks, the following events transpired. A Department of Justice memo, authored by John Yoo, was released which authorized torture and presidential lawbreaking. It was revealed that the Bush administration declared the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights to be inapplicable to "domestic military operations" within the U.S. The U.S. Attorney General appears to have fabricated a key event leading to the 9/11 attacks and made patently false statements about surveillance laws and related lawsuits. Barack Obama went bowling in Pennsylvania and had a low score.

Here are the number of times, according to NEXIS, that various topics have been mentioned in the media over the past thirty days:

"Yoo and torture" - 102
"Mukasey and 9/11" -- 73
"Yoo and Fourth Amendment" -- 16
"Obama and bowling" -- 1,043
"Obama and Wright" -- More than 3,000 (too many to be counted)
"Obama and patriotism" - 1,607
"Clinton and Lewinsky" -- 1,079

The article has a link to the full version, as well.

This further proves that Bush is trying to gain complete power over the United States, and it's yet another motion that can be expressed by two words:

GOVERNMENT SUCKS.

37, in fact. On the 1st, Clinton then gave a suggestion to end it all on the democratic side (finally) with a bowling game, saying she'd even give him two frames.

Nice April Fools. Witty enough at least.

Well, Fox News is kinda both, but instead of informing, they attempt to mislead and brainwash.

This sums up current media, which led to this thread title.

On a side note, everything that could have potential to be useful nowadays seems to be a big business that puts profits over their customers and even their purpose. Even the government is like that, but instead they put themselves over everyone else with no regard for money.

Indeed. US law today is strictly made by and for corporations. All laws are made with direct monetary benefit to them of kind in mind.

Not all laws (for example, how would a child pornography law directly benefit corporations?), but certainly an increasing number of them...

Although I agree the state of law today is absolutely terrible, there's really not much to do about it. Especially with the media as useless as it is, which is why I never watch/listen to it, a waste of valuable time. The problem is, that nobody knows about this type of thing except those that look for it(not in the media), and most people don't, so most people don't notice it, and since the majority wins, it's hard to get anything done when the majority pays no attention to what's actually going on.

As long as people have their Hummers and 3-story homes and 2.5 children and American Idol, they're not likely to care about much else.
