That's stupid. As long as they stay in the crosswalks and go through when the light is green, they should be allowed to use cell phones, as any accident in that situation would be the car's fault.

Let them get hit by my a car...if they're dumb enough to walk into an intersection while on the phone, maybe they deserve it.

I do agree with the no cell phone while driving...or at least get a headset. Soooo many people cannot drive with a phone stuck to their ear. Sorry, if you're gonna talk on the phone, pull over. I'm sick of getting stuck behind people who are driving below the speed limit to just talk on their phone.

The other day, during morning rush hour, I was stuck behind a lady who was putting on her make-up...both at lights and while driving.

I'm sure Verizon and the other landline phone companies would love a law like that... Expect to see it next year

I don't see the point of "No cell phone while driving unless you get a headset" except to help the headset manufacturers- studies show that it's the talking on the phone that causes you to get distracted, not the act of holding the phone in one hand.

Heaven help them if it's a stereo bluetooth that swaps in and out of calls and music.

Throws that law right back at them...since a Bluetooth does no better at helping a person focus on what's in front of them than each other. Both ears clogged with it? Sheesh.

Shadic, if you can't tell the difference between talking to someone and listening to music, I fear for your future.

(Talking to people around you is a bit less bad since they should logically have at least a small degree of awareness of the situation around you; people on the other end of a phone would not.)

I wear headphones when I walk outside, but I either turn down the music and look both ways or just look both ways before crossing. Same goes for the phone, but I am rarely on the phone while walking outside (unless someone calls me, like work). But it seems that many people cannot multi-task. Sure, I have been on the phone while driving (sometimes with a headset on and sometimes not) but I am still going the speed limit (sometimes a tad over) and I still use my turn indicator (is it so hard to use it people!). But some people...^&&^%%^#$!!!! And texting while driving?!!!! WTF?! I just want to hold up a piece of paper to all those type of people saying "Are you a moron?" Or at least find a bumper sticker saying "If you plan to hit me from behind, please get off the phone and act like you enjoy it" or something with a double meaning like that.

Even a loud horn may not work if you're wearing headphones.

Of course, they don't do anything about headphones, but they're all against cell phones.
