Uh, no.

There's no bgcolor for his post area, so if his background doesn't load (which has happened many times before) ... it becomes unreadable.

I'm getting tired of all the (pointlessly used) transparent backgrounds. (And much moreso of "opacity: not-100" ones)

Mine uses it to create an effect.

There are several layouts I've seen that use it on a background that's almost entirely the same color, or when it wasn't needed at all.
