Dear pieguy1372,
Aside from the levels that have been found, no other levels have been found. There have been 5 identified, but the total number of unknown levels is unknown.
Actually, there are only 5 - at least in NSMB final.
This is how the levels can be roughly converted to normal names, from their filenames:
A_01_1.bin (first area of 1-1) - A = world number (as letters of alphabet), 01 = level number, 1 = area number. This is how my editor displays them.
Using this method, the Toad House levels are world 9, and the multiplayer levels are 10-1 to 10-5. The unused levels are 10-6 to 10-10. There aren't any more past that.
The reason I haven't made an IPS patch yet is because it would require quite a bit of mucking around with the file system. I made these videos by extracting/replacing the files using Nitro Explorer 2, which means that for all the files which were bigger than their originals - everything else got moved up. It would create quite a huge IPS patch.
For those that'd rather get their feet wet and do it themselves...
+ Download
Nitro Explorer 2
+ Download
NSMB Editor 2.2
+ Make a copy of your NSMB ROM, to work on
+ Play through your copy until 1-1 to 1-5 are accessible, and save
+ Open the ROM in Nitro Explorer
+ Extract these files: J_06_1.bin, J_07_1.bin, J_08_1.bin, J_09_1.bin, J_10_1.bin, and their accompanying files (same name, but with _bgdat on the end)
+ Use them to replace these, respectively: A_01_1.bin, A_02_1.bin, A_03_1.bin, A_04_1.bin, A_05_1.bin and their accompanying files
+ Close Nitro Explorer
+ Open the ROM in NSMB Editor 2.2
+ Do the following steps for each first area from 1-1 to 1-5:
+++ Switch to Sprite mode
+++ Find any sprites with ID 0. Double-click on them in the list, change them to Goombas and save the level
+++ Repeat for next area until 1-5
+ Close NSMB Editor
+ Play! Levels will be 1-1 to 1-5. (Not counting the Tower)
