It is all a technicality. Man's (no pun intended) need to classify things led us to the predicament we are in. If we didn't have a need to classify, then this scenario is a moot point.

There really isn't anything special about this. Now, what would be special is someone with XY chromosomes being pregnant.

If he didn't have his reproductive organs changed, then technically he still should be a woman, so there's nothing really special or strange here at all.

This point further comes across because he stopped the hormone injections for a while.
