So, has anyone ever gotten this error with winamp?

Ha ha. I guess the programmers put it in as a joke for anyone who actually knows its the amiga blue screen of death. Lately, i've been getting it everytime I try to play an AC3 or SPC file, and then I'll get it with every file I try to open after that. I tried reinstalling winamp. That solves the problem until I try to play an AC3 or SPC file again and then its just red screen of doom until I reinstall again. Is there any way to fix this?

Few options:
1. Delete your configuration
2. Delete your plugins and reinstall
3. Do both of the above plus reinstall Winamp itself
4. Use another player.

That's a problem with the skin you're using. Why it only happens with certain file types is anyone's guess.

Really? I've used the same skin for years and never got this message before. It's just the modern skin with almost everything else at default. Anyway, I re-installed chipamp since that's what I was using for SPCs and so for that seems to have done the trick.

Well I guess a faulty plugin could break the skin.

It's also (unlikely, but) possible that something got corrupted, which would explain why reinstalling fixed the problem.

This is especially true if the plugin you are using does something funny with the seek bar.
