Now, this is interesting. There is an article on a hack someone has made to play The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time in multi-player! The article can be found on TehSkeen at the following link.

Yea, it took a quite a lot of badgering at news sites to get those articles up. Once we finally got it on GoNintendo, it started spreading like hotcakes.

Header with random useless information here.
----------------------------
Not to be like those sm64 people obsessed with Luigi in the game... but actually considering that LoZ is IIRC based of it, and not only that but if what a comment says is right, and this hack is based on that multi-link code (which is also present in sm64)... Maybe we could also get similarly a 2-4 player Super Mario 64 after all?

Though what I wonder is how the camera would work... there they are using the fixed one that can be easilly acessed in the debug. Maybe split-screen? or even something to make it always focus the two? Which also leads to what happens when one of them goes to another room (stage/area)... same goes for all stats (life etc)...

I'd like if the video showed a bit more of how it currently works...

Well it would make sense if the camera worked like it does in Brawl's SSE co-op mode (the camera follows player 1, and if he enters another room P2 automatically travels there with him; if the hackers block Links2-4 from entering other rooms it seems like it would work fine).

Isn't that Cadohacan? I think I recall Outlawer and Cen being alternate names that Cadohacan used. He hangs around #kodewerx now and then (I forget the name of the current server for that channel).

He's a bit of a dork, but I guess he knows his stuff.

@Reimu - In Jet Force Gemini, you can use an exit modifier to escape multiplayer levels when having a death match with your friends, and warp to a single player level. When one of the players leaves the area, all the other players come with them, and each player spawns in their own entrance to the next area when that area loads. As you can imagine, that creates an issue of realism. I'm hoping that, assuming Ocarina exhibits similar behavior (and why it wouldn't, I can't fathom), Cado fixed the issue.

Interesting note about JFG, the AI works perfect. I'm not sure why, but the AI in JFG is smart enough to target players on its own, and you can essentially play the single player game as a co-op game with no trouble. The game still thinks you're fighting against your "team mates" though. I've made JFG hacks that enable usage of the single player menu in multiplayer (for player 1 only, though), and allow saving and loading of multiplayer data.

In Diddy Kong Racing, I discovered values within character data that changes whether a character is human or AI controlled. I imagine that Diddy Kong Racing's 2 player co-op could be extended to 4 players.

Adding multiplayer support is definitely one of my favorite types of hacks, and it's not too difficult in most cases.

It looks like Cado is using the Gamecube version of Ocarina in order to make these codes. What's up with that?

Yeah, it's Cendamos/Cadohacan.

I wouldn't hesitate to call him socially retarded, but he's a genius when it comes to hacking games.

I also got to see a screenshot of (broken) split-screen. Bleh.
