Just got Tales of Phantasia for GBA. Harder than I expected, yet also a better English translation than I'd thought.

I wanted Symphonia instead. However, copies are pretty much gone around here now.

I've pushed ZX behind for a day or so to work with Banana Nababa. As I've said in the thread, it's got a great retro feel. The music sounds as if it were straight from the NES but with some more hardware to make the song even more epic. The controls are a bit of a pain, but if someone just grabs game maker, they can simply change that.

Something to keep in mind, however, that if it ever came down to a versus match...I'd EASILY be able to down you in a hit with those stats.

You MIGHT have a chance against Priere but I think you'll have to try really hard and throw her onto an island with a no-attack cheap move like many do (otherwise, she heals herself).

I haven't even found anything to get the better items with; I can't beat higher stages yet for the bonus gauges and I simply don't have any high-rank Legendary items to abuse.

It's really going to be the only place you're going to get decent items.

I can think of yanking a Testament off of the Prinny God in Prinny Land, for starters. It's rare or legendary sometimes.

I think, for the Savior, you're going to eventually need an Omniscent Staff. Basically, it all comes down to stealing Legendary items from Rank 39 to get the top Rank 40 ones off an Item God (which also requires stealing).

- Going to the item world
- Dying a lot. The hospital thing gives great items like mahogany's brain. Go to the item world with those items and profit
- Stack enemies for levels. Boring but it works
- Transcend chars

knuck, I've:
- Gotten many of the hospital rewards, though I've been working on sacrificing lots of characters really fast (throwing in a human char to the base panel works)
- Stacked enemies, but killing them en masse via CoO3 / Stellar Graveyard 1 works better
- Transcended characters, occasionally (works better with more levels)



Going to the item world is still something I need to work on.

Well, in a nutshell for your staff at least:

- Galactic Staff : Steal from enemy in high rank Item World
Steal from Item God in an Infernal Staff
Win from Bonus Gauge

- Omniscient Staff: Steal from Item God in a Galactic Staff
Steal from Item God 2 in an Omniscient Staff

The problem is, you only have a REGULAR Infernal Staff. You need a Legendary one and you can probably find either a legendary Galactic or Infernal Staff in a higher level Item World.
