I can honestly say that I've been on hold for someone for over an hour and a half and eventually hung up, redialed, and got in within 5 minutes and I was wearing a headset the whole time and I was pissed the fsck off when it worked that way. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise without the set though.

Typically I spend less than five minutes, far less than that, actually. Although when it's with a friend, it's occasionally upwards of 20min.

Well, I wasn't aware people talked that much (8 hours ). I honestly can't stay to even half of that without a headset, which I sadly don't have...

My brother will sometimes go into 2-3 hour long calls with friends while he simultaneously faces them over Nintendo Wi-Fi. He did it so much that now, sometimes when he plays his DS, his head is tilted to one side as though he's holding the phone with his head.

Most of my friends say they can't be more than 20 minutes on the phone, but I think that as long as there is something to talk about, anyone can talk for hours.

I'm going to do a call any minute now But I can't be too long thanks to a project I need to do for tomorrow...

I dislike phones, but will talk with my sister for hours on end. Though actually a lot of that is silence, and we're both just sitting at our computers with phones to our ears.

Depends on the people I talk to and, when I'm calling, if I am using my cell phone (expensive) or my wired phone at home - flatrates are the win.
Anything between thirty seconds and up to about 1,5 hours is possible.

Skype is another story. It is easy, fun and both hands are free, where the counter easily can rack up up to 3-4 hours (playing HoMM III via Hamachi is fun). The drawback is the wire from the headset - and I won't buy a wireless one just for Skype.

Playing Wifi and talking to them is fun. I need a headset, so I can do it more often.
