It depends on my mood at the time... sometimes I get all angry and put the game away, never to be seen for months, other times I'll just fight the same crappy enemy for hours... (and if I have access to a cheat function, I'll use that and just continue on in the game )

If it's called Disgaea, yes.
Else, no.

570 ...Ungodly high.

I can get from 98 to 99 in RO off of .04% per kill.

Header with random useless information here.
----------------------------
It deppends if it's turn or action... Or mostly if it's fun. For example in Illusion of Gaia I kill everything (probably becouse that's the only way to complete the game... >>). But in most turn based games I prefer to follow the story and don't level up, running from most annoying fights as well.

Though I take the dungeon or whatever easy and slowly so I can level up and I don't end up dying at the first hit of the boss. But still I go very underleveled most of time. If I ever level up it's becouse of side-missions or whatever actually.

If I'm playing an RPG and I seem to be taking too much / deliver too little, I train. When I feel content (or start earning pitiful amounts of Exp. in accordance with what I need) I go back to the main branch.

Example, I'm about to go leveling up in Magical Starsign because enemy formations tend to give at least 11 Exp right now, and its based on an 100XP format. Plus there's a boss coming up that will "Charm" my allies, preventing them from attacking that boss, who will later smack them down to 1HP to remove the charm effect and instantly charm someone else. The worst part? It's some guy in a clamshell. Urgh.

RPGs are, shall I say, not my favorite genre of game. The only RPG I've played and enjoyed was probably Paper Mario.

The battles are the main reason I don't like RPGs very much.

I've played my fair share of MMORPGs to say I really don't care for their battle systems and the focus on grinding. RO I maybe got to level 15 (?), Trickster to level 20 (what), Maple Story to 10 (bleh), and... well, that's all I can think that I tried.

I don't like playing a game for an hour and not leveling up that entire time, hence why I no longer and will probably never have those games on my system ever again.

Other RPGs, like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Disgaea, and much more, are entertaining enough and have a good plot to actually finish, so I prefer those over MMORPGs, with a story that doesn't... really go anywhere...

That reminds me. Final Fantasy IV seems to punish you for trying to grind your characters, especially in dungeons. MP is limited, monsters do way too much damage for their own good, Phoenix Downs/Life is kinda expensive...

Like... half the dungeons, the only way to get through easily is to run from 2/3 of the battles. Even then, you'll run into places like the Sealed Cave that have a bunch of forced inescapable battles.

I'd say not too much. For the most part, I'm not a fan of finding out that this one boss kills me quickly, meaning I need to spend hours on "X just leveled up!" There's only two exceptions I've found so far... one was in Dragon Quest VIII, where I wanted to do the Dragovian Trials, so I leveled up via Metal Slimes, Metal King Slimes, etc. and Final Fantasy VI, where I decided to level up from...like 40 or so to 99.

Needless to say, it took forever. Around 20+ hours of A A A A A A A. I nearly fell asleep a few times doing so.

It seems to depend on what I'm playing.

Most RPGs: No. I just can't do it.
Tales of Symphonia: There was really no need that I found. I leveled up pretty well just by playing.
Fire Emblem: Yes. I'll arena grind but only when I can use the Nini's Grace + Rescue trick. I hate when my people die.
Pokemon: Sometimes. I've done it a couple of times like leveling Bagon into Salamence and Larvitar into Tyranitar.
Golden Sun 2: Yes. I find that even though its turn based, it's just too fun to watch normal enemies get pounded into dust by Psynergy like Odyssey and multi-elemental summons like Iris and Charon. I spent a while going back and forth in one of the bonus dungeons fighting the green phoenix enemies because they give the most exp in the game.

Depends if I have the time and the will to do it. Often times, if I like the game enough, I'll do it.

Games like Xenosaga II, however, can kiss my shiny metal ass.

One of my best friends, however, has full tolerance to a fault. He's gone through Disgaea PSP on the first round and is this close to beating Baal. The only problem is HE'S NOT EVEN THROUGH CHAPTER 8 YET...

He similarly did this when I let him borrow FFT on the PSX years ago. Got all the way up in level and AP to get everything he could but never went so much past Velius for it to matter and never finished the game to my knowledge. I think he was at level 80 or 90.

I never grind in WoW, questing is the way to go. Although I have grinded in some games (FF3, FFTA), I often do something else while mashing the same button to cast uberspells so that they win instantly.

In WoW, I can grind with a Mage, via AoE Frost specs. Otherwise, forget it.
I'm grinding in Pokemon right now, since I'm sorely under leveled; caught a Ponyta and a Stunky at level 15 or so each when the rest of my team was at 26, so I had to spend some time evening things out. Now I should grind to 30 before I hit Veilstone...
