 | Taken from a Chinese kid's essay...
I woke up this morning to the crowing of a chicken. I washed my hands using the hydrant and had scrambled dicks for breakfast.
As I walked to school, I stopped by a pond and tried to catch a mob. I stopped at a construction site and watched the workers use choppers, navvys, and reactances. I also saw a mice run across the ground as a darning needle flew past my face.
At school, we played softball on the softball court, and our teacher showed us on the epidiascope how secondary planets orbit the earth.
After school was over, my mom drove up in the wecker to pick me up. On the way home, we got some gas at a destroy the evidence.

Another good vocabulary lesson is animal words. You can even get in a bit of cultural exchange when you explain that animals in different countries make different sounds. For instance, in English, dogs say “bow-wow”. In Chinese, they say “wang-wang”. Interestingly, cats “meow” in both languages and, as such, can talk to each other. Yet another reason why they can’t be trusted.
