Okay.

HOLY FUCK GIANTS WIN!

That was just beyond epic. Especially that long throw by Eli. Giant, giant upset. The internet was exploding with lag for about 20 minutes after the victory. I'm this pumped, and I don't even watch football (although I was following the whole Patriots "perfect season" thing). So, opinions on the Super Bowl?

This is going to be the game of my lifetime. No other Super Bowl game during my life has come down to this.

A perfect team, brought down by a wildcard team! I was dumbfounded when they managed to pull off that final touchdown in 2:59 left! Then the 2 final passes to Moss! 00:01 LEFT! BELECHICK LEAVES THE FIELD! THEY TAKE A KNEE! IT'S OVER!

I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS GAME!!!

I thought the last touchdown was sometime with less than a minute to go...yeah, it was with 0:35 left to go. Also, I might mention I marked the fuck out when "The Final Countdown" started playing after that touchdown.

I thought it was funny as hell when there was 2 seconds left and everyone started streaming onto the field and that were trying to get everyone off.

I was upstairs listening to Planet X and getting my ass handed to me by a video game for most of it.

I also predicted the end. Mostly because the Rams v. Titans superbowl several years ago ended in the exact same way (well, almost)... nobody expected the Titans to manage to score in the last minute, but they did and ended up winning.

Loops...

*I think. It's been several years.

We live in Maine. We are the only Giants fans in Maine.
I am so going to gloat college. And probably get my ass kicked in the process.

But yeah, I was on the edge of my seat for most of that game. Stunning. Simply amazing.

Poor New England. Guess they forgot to tape the Giants' practice.

The fact that it took 3 minutes to play the last second due to all the confusion was insane. I'm positive that New England sent out a random bunch of guys... I don't even think 11 were on the field.

This was the first time this year that the Pats looked totally mortal. Brady got his ass kicked by the Giants defense like never before... insane number of sacks and hits. But that reception thrown by Manning to Tyree... OH MAN. That made me think the Giants were going to do it, and... they did.

Best Super Bowl in several years. Actually lived up to the hype.

I wasn't really going for any team but instead I knew it would be a fantastic superbowl and as I raced 20+ miles to catch the game in time (I had to work yesterday), I was glad that I was correct.

Only really bad thing, is that my assistsant is a HUGE Pats fan while my other manager is a HUGE NY fan. And all three of us work today.

I watched the game last night while lying in bed with a pounding headache . I almost never watch regular football games but I do watch the Super Bowl every year. It was definitly an interesting game. I laughed after the game was over when I remembered a comment that was made just before a commercial, "The Patriots are just 59* seconds away from playing a perfect season!" um no...

* May of been a bit more or less

I watched it at the bar with about 4 other people (total in the bar, not people I came with), ate some free food, and enjoyed an incredible defensive game.

Man, I am so glad the Patriots lost.

Drag's Post #574
A friend and I went to a superbowl party at the new gameroom (with billiards and ping pong, and 5 flatscreen TVs). Not for the superbowl, but for the free food. He went for the commercials, I went for the billiards and the food.

He asked me what team I was going to root for, so I picked up a chalk cube and said "If this lands chalk-side-up, Giants." I rolled it, it landed chalk-side-up.

I know nothing about football. I'm not a fan of sports in general, and I really hate when people look at me like I'm from another planet. Yeah guys, there are people who don't care about sports.

What is football but an excuse for people to get drunk, start fights, riot, and have huge bulky men ram each other on the field without going anywhere? People act ridiculous when it comes to football, and it's just another pet peeve of mine. It's like "Wow, let's take the game way too seriously. That's a great idea, right?"

The campus police sure were busy that night...

Another thing is that the superbowl guarantees riots. No matter who wins, everybody in the stadium is going to want to kill each other, and this spills over to other people, too. I had professors that would be grumpy when their team doesn't win. The whole thing just pisses me off.

But like I said, the superbowl is good for one thing, for me: free food at campus superbowl parties.

*Imajin stabs all the giants fans in the thread

Actually, I didn't even bother watching the game, just used the computer with it on in the background (and I had headphones on ~90% of the time), and those parts I did listen to I had no idea what was going on since I really never bothered to learn how to play football... (Now, baseball on the other hand...)

Oh my god, Kattwah's layout works!
--------------------------------

Yeah, as everyone said, that game was definitely an upset at the end. It was damn awesome though - one of my friends one a few thousand in a football lottery because of that though, heh. Gotta admit though, the second and third quarter were really dull Good thing it ended with a bang.

At least I can have the comfort of knowing this will still be the Patriots' Super Bowl. People are going to remember that the Patriots lost, not that the Jersey Giants won.

So instead of remembering those Super Bowl wins and the dynasty, you're good with remembering that the Patriots had the biggest choke in NFL history?

It's not a good thing. Believe me.
