I remember first playing these when there was a thread made about the series back on board 2. Now, there's a new Submachine out, Submachine 5: The Root and it's just as fun, thought-provoking and somewhat creepy as the other games.

3 secrets and beaten without actually getting any help I asked for it a few times, but a lot of random clicking later and I beat it...
Now I just need to find the damn secrets

Well, I finally beat it with all the secrets. Funny thing was that the first time I was playing, I thought to myself that it didn't seem like the secrets were coming back because I hadn't seen any in the open. The secrets are worth getting though; it's really interesting to read the author commentary he's got locked away.

I was in the middle of beating it with 4 secrets before I had to fall asleep, but before I could start Submachine 5, I had to finish the other Submachines to understand where I am. I like the Submachine games . Remind me to get all the secrets on Submachine 2.

| Drag's Post #567 | Mateusz really does awesome work with these games. Not just the submachine series, but the rest of his point and clicks. I'm looking forward to the next Daymare Town.
Anyway, I think the thing that really defines the submachine series is the overall atmosphere each one has. In this this installment, you go the first submachine ever built, and it shows that it was the first, because everything's all old and rusty looking, and that's actually radically different from the rest of the series, where everything usually looks shiny and serene.
Also, the ambience sound is really creepy once again. It's mostly those out-of-tune notes that really freak me out.
Anyway, I *really* want to see more of that ship from sub4. Do you think we'll get to see it again sometime in the future?

I think it's likely. Seeing as you revisited so many areas in Sub4 that you'd gone to in Sub1-3 and you even revisited rooms from Sub2 and Sub0 (I think that's what the temple one was called) I'd expect to see it again sometime.

I got BMF into playing them now
Needless to say, he didn't get to bed until late...

See, THAT is why I'm so reluctant to try these things everyone's raving about. I just know I'll end up playing them all night, and I always have to get up early the next morning.
