EmuNet or DJBoucheNet would both be fine, but I don't really know much about the others (except for EsperNet...blech).

After looking at DJBouche.net it seems pretty much identical to EmuNET (except for the services having really annoying junk names (like ニックたん for NickServ)).

Get a client that supports Unicode (correctly)

WTF, why does the protocol even allow that? Or is it just "join or we ban lol"?

IRCops can force users to join and leave channels.

There are some uses it can be applied well for (for example, an emergency network-wide discussion)... but "hey let's make everybody join" is not one.

I voted Sorcerynet, but by that I mean Dorksnet, which is more stable than Sorcerynet, has the full range of modes, and I know dang well bots are allowed 'cuz the channel I'm in had one run by one guy who had, like, two-three clients running at once for years and nobody cared.

Sorcerynet lacks +h. It might be a good idea to change it to Dorksnet... if the poll editing feature works :p

Whoops, I'm dumb, missed the Dorksnet option. Voting for both of them then!

Average lag on Dorksnet: 84 milliseconds.
Average lag on Sorcerynet: 186 milliseconds, plus spikes and netsplits
Average lag on Wondernet: 201 milliseconds, plus catastrophic explosions which destroy half of its connectivity

You get the idea.

Xk implemented an "unvote-for-option" feature you know.

Yeah, I figured that out when I went "Perhaps I can vote for one network multiple timeS" and it instead undid my vote.

I voted for both Sorcery and Dorksnet 'cause I'd prefer either--I'm already on multiple networks, I don't need a fourth one, so either of those is my choice.

I think I've decided for DJBoucheNet.

MetalMan: eh, you made a lot of notes of how much you disliked being in #x anyway, so...

I will work on doing all the necessary registrating and crap tonight or tomorrow... if EmuNet ever comes up, I'll probably turn on a relay (but at this rate, it might just be easier to forget about it.)

I'll go with the flow. And try to get on IRC more often. :\ You know, if I'm not tired or glued to the PS2/Wii.

EmuNet was "restored" (read: blackhole89 turned on his server), but everything's gone.

Good for him.

The official channel is now irc.djbouche.net / #x.

(Those of you who had access to #super-x: Please PM me on that server.)

Not to mention I only accounted for one or two votes, and I have at least two other ways to talk to you, heh.

However, I am happy that it is moving to a non-emunet server. I was partially gone because I could not stand the idea of an IRC server with BH holding any power above that of owning a room. (I don't dislike the guy, but frankly, he admins things like I did when I was an angry 14 year old. Not very good.)
