Exactly. For me, I could look past Link being in this game because not only was it awesome, it worked. He was a little less... Dark? That everybody else, but still blended in well.

Correct. I have no idea why they decided to make the characters exclusive. In Soul Caliber 2, it was because the characters (Mostly) were part of that console. Not so here.
