I've developed an odd sleeping... thing since I started taking classes at 8:30 and 9:00 in the morning. I sometimes find myself awake before I should be awake, be it 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour before the clock is supposed to go off. The problem is, I'm so tired at that point i try to go back to bed, only to wake up a little while later.

This morning I woke up at 2 am after going to bed at 1:15.

One day, though, was the worse, when I woke up an hour early, fell back asleep and woke up half an hour later, then went back to sleep and woke up five minutes early. D;

I am going to go to sleep soon. Course, I have medication that makes that easier.

And I'm still pissed off with my internet. It improved a bit:

DSL Driver Version: AnnexA version - A2pB021c.d17m
DSL VPI/VCI: 8/35
DSL Status: Showtime
DSL Channel: FAST
DSL Upstream Rate: 802 Kbps
DSL Downstream Rate: 1314 Kbps

Down up
DSL Noise Margin: 15.3 dB 15.3 dB
DSL Attenuation: 40.0 dB 24.1 dB
DSL Transmit Power: 17.6 dBm 12.4 dBm

But the noise on the line is still quite high, and it still drops out periodically. I couldn't even talk to my friends over IM as it dropped out every couple of minutes! It's driving me insane. Worse, I hate that I keep ranting angrily about it, I'm sure nobody really gives a shit. I'm just so pissed off I need to vent.

Well, it's not like I haven't been touched by something like that. It's pretty annoying, to say the least (connection problems, that is)

My question is how do you even CHECK for noise on a line?

I'm sure I have a faint signal going through the phone lines for my 56K as it is since I only get 26.4kbps usually (28.8kbps max, rarely).

I hate it. I absolutely HATE it.

I think noise on our phone line was one of the primary reasons why we got broadband in the first place.

There's no turning back now.

Getting disconnected every two minutes made me want to throw a prinny at my computer.

Wee! Mine was down for 12 hours yesterday!
Seriously, has everyone had internet problems in that last day?

Mine's been disconnecting on a regular basis for the last three weeks. Yesterday there were times I couldn't connect at all, same with the day before. Some days are better than others.

Hell, some days are great and terrible all in the same day. It's making me nuts.

My home wireless network has been dropping off more and more often nowadays... the strange thing is that it's only this computer- there's another computer across the room that uses the same brand of antenna, the same OS setup, and has never been dropped except when the internet is actually off...

Soon enough the router will be replaced though- we're getting the Verizon fiber-optic system to replace DSL hopefully in a few weeks, and I apparently they provide new routers, hopefully that will fix the problem...

I found it funny how it was a problem on our ISPs end, and resetting our router fixed it completely

We actually had some sort of wiring problem with our connection for months, but it never caused enough trouble to suspect anything until the modem got moved and wires got poked at.

Fun stuff.
Our internet is back to normal now, except for the odd slowdown, which is normal anyways.

My dorm's internet connection always seems to be reliable.

Reliably slow.

Couldn't you just reconfigure your router to sue the same settings as the old one?
Besides doesn't Wii and DS only need an connection name and password? Switching the router to that would be easier then switching on all the systems.

*coughs* It's an unsecured wireless network. Not that hard to set up
Besides, my dad's in charge of the router, he's paranoid I might blow something up.

I was wrong about the "few weeks" part, they actually came in today
