Whenever I see somebody's birthday and no thread on it, I always assume somebody else is going to make it. (So I notice it)
If everybody does the same thing, no thread gets made.
Also: I've only had one mostly ignored birthday thread, and an ignored birthday, but I never thought much about it. :/

I don't think I've made a birthday thread for years, and to be honest I don't know really what to say if anyone does make one for me. If you want to wish me a happy birthday, generally I'd rather you say hello to me over IM.

I don't tend to participate in birthday threads much either. What's there to say that hasn't already been said? Again, I'd rather actually converse with an individual and wish them a happy birthday "personally", and have a chat with them than leave a fairly generic response on a forum.
