Nothing in particular. Just decided to start moaning about chores the second I got home from work. (Thanks for the warm welcome! )

I'm turning this into a mini-rant thread. Rated T for explicit lyrics.

It's Sunday. Who cares? Why the hell is everything closed on Sunday? Royal pain in the ass. It's a day of the week, people, just like all the others. Happens every 7 days.

RECYCLE YOUR GODDAMN CARDBOARD. >:

Nosebleeds are one of the most fucking annoying things ever. They come at the worst possible times and you just have to drop everything you're doing and sit there like an idiot holding tissue up your nose for 10 minutes. Don't even think about ignoring them and trying to finish what you're right in the middle of because that only makes it a lot worse. Then any time you touch your nose, sneeze, etc within the next week or so, it starts again. It's almost enough to make me wish I could just remove my nose entirely and get a fake one.
(Now to figure out how to remove blood stains from carpet. )

Well, it's in the appropriate forum.

Where do you live that everything is closed all day Sunday?

Lucky me then, I never get those.

It's like this all over Alberta, and to a lesser extent Ontario. Supermarkets and the like are open, but that's about it.

Recycle your cardboard. If there's one thing I can't stand it's people who can't take an extra 30 seconds of effort to help not destroy the world.

I recycle my cardboard. The hard part though for me is trying to fold it up so it can go in my recycling bin. I'm only little, I don't have much weight to put into it. I have to jump on it for anything to happen.

You get those too? Seriously, I thought I was the only one. Then again, how bad are yours? Compared to everyone I know, (who assuming they even get a nosebleed at all, at the worst can get it to stop with just one tissue and under 5 mins) mine are abnormally frequent and severe. Everyone around here thinks I'm a freak of nature because every now and then, for no apparent reason and ALWAYS at the most inappropriate time, my nose will just randomly decide to gush blood anywhere from 10 minutes to a half hour, to even longer if it's particularly bad. I've had a few where I've almost passed out due to blood loss. I'll go for a long time without having one, sometimes for a whole year or so, but once I get one it's like the flood gates have opened again. I'm getting them more frequently right now since its winter and the dry weather acts as a damn catalyst. And oh yeah, recently, it will start up like that while I'm asleep. That's not fun! 2 nights ago I had a dream that I was drowning, guess why?! I wake up, gagging on blood and drool, great way to start the day!

As for blood stains, I gave up on that a while ago. In my case it's kind of pointless. My floor is already so disgusting from so much other crap that it needed replaced about 5 years ago, so a little more gunk on it isn't that noticeable, it just fades in with the filth. Plus last time I tried to clean it up, I got a nosebleed as I was cleaning, so I've just kind of said screw it by now.

Yea, there's a 15 minute wait period for me after work...

You get to bitching in that 15 minute segment and I'll usually make your life hell for trying to make mine as such.

Had the dumbest customer ever at work today. Bit of backstory, it's a car wash and whoever designed it didn't bother to put in a proper fan. See, when it's cold as fuck and you open the door to a fairly warm and very wet wash bay, fog builds up pretty quick, and too much of it will block the laser sensors and make the whole damn thing not work. As you go in there are some sprayers on the floor and walls that spray at you while you drive through, and then you stop and the wand travels around your car.

At temperatures like today's (-20°C and below), it takes anywhere from a minute to 5 seconds for the fog to get thick enough to be a problem. So this woman comes in, and when the door opens, she pulls in until the sprayers start and just stops. Puts the fucking car in park and just sits there. These stop spraying after about 30 seconds, and she just keeps sitting there. In park. Staring at the big glowing green "DRIVE FORWARD" sign.

After about 2 minutes of this (and I have no idea how it managed to run with the door open for this long without the fog causing a problem) I have to actually go tell her to "keep going". She doesn't understand. "Keep driving?" "Yes /* you fucking moron */." She craaaaawwwwls forward at a pace that could barely have kept up with a tortoise hauling a load of bricks, taking another whole minute to drive the 2 meters or so until the "STOP" sign lights up.

I honestly have no idea how the machine managed to tolerate this despite A) the fog being as thick as Bush and B) it being set to stop after 3 minutes of waiting. But what really baffles me is what the fuck is so difficult. People see this big green glowing sign that says "DRIVE FORWARD" and what do they do? Stop, back up (this one is quite popular), get out and ask for help, now even just put the fucking car in park. How in the fuck did these people pass their drivers' tests?

Also, I wasn't exaggerating when I said it can take as little as 5 seconds before the fog becomes too thick. There was one last customer 15 minutes before closing time (there always is), and that's precisely how long it took. Needless to say, actually getting in within 5 seconds is impossible (especially given about 3 for the door to open far enough for a car to fit through), so I just gave them a refund and closed early.

Why do people think washing their car at -20°C is a good idea, anyway? Hey, let's go soak the car and then drive it around at well below the freezing point of water. Yeah, there's a blow-drier, but we all know those never actually get anything more than half dry.

The lesson you should learn from this is that "instructions are open to all kinds of crazy interpretation". That's what I've noticed here.

The other thing I've noticed is that people just flat out don't read anything.

Both of those seem quite valid in my experience.

Also, don't buy those in-ear headphones. There are two varieties and both suck. One is just a solid plastic piece that you shove in your ear. These suck because they are never the right size nor shape to fit in an ear. If you can manage to cram them in it's going to be very uncomfortable, The other type is shaped a bit like a drill and comes with little rubber pieces you stick on the end in various sizes. These solve the comfort problem since they're flexible and you can choose the size that fits best. These, however, suck because you'll lose the little rubber pieces and then your nice expensive headphones become completely useless. >:

I love my Sennheiser in-ear earphones. It has adjustable little bits on the end, they're comfortable and the pieces aren't likely to come off by accident either. I've not had any problems with them. I need them on the smallest size though.

These are my favourite earphones so far!

Another round?
Oh god I just had a "nice" morning.

I wake up often 30 minutes before going to work, that's the time I need for eating and leaving. Me and my big brother go with the same car, he drops me to work as he goes to his.

So, I wake up today and feel so fucking tired. Nothing special there, but my little sister is awake and bugs me to give he back the NDS Lite, which I borrowed to test a few homebrews. I give it to her and he starts playing Animal Crossing, with full sound. Ugh.

I proceed on preparing my breakfast and wonder why hasn't my big brother came yet. I go to wake him up. Apparently he had shut down his cellphone and it didn't wake him. Great. Now we are in a hurry.

But it's still cool, I have done almost everything and start eating breakfast as my big brother puts his clothes on. Then he comes and eats something.

Argh, how can someone keep such noise!? Every time he drinks something, it's fucking SLUUUUUURRRRRRRPPPP AAHH . While eating the toasted bread, you can imagine a meatgrinder. Not only that, he coughs, sneezes and spits into the drainer every tenth second. Cough, slurp, munch, munch, sneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze, spit, cough, slurp and so on.

He drives. Fast. Too fast. You can feel the car defying the laws of gravity.

Well, at least I got some tea from work. Relaxing.

I know what you mean. My dad makes such disgusting sounds when he eats, and his driving sometimes has me fearing for my life. I mean, he's a professional, so I probably shouldn't worry, but when he's doing 20K above the speed limit on a narrow icy road at night...

Also, fuckup of the day. Spent a few hours trying to determine why my program was fucking up the keyboard state when I tried to simulate keys. I was trying to use the Wiimote's D-pad to emulate the arrow keys for emulators, but the input lagged terribly and when I released the button, it'd still think it was down until I pressed the actual key on the keyboard.

Eventually I noticed the interesting reactions in Mario 64. When I pressed Right he'd run to the right and not stop - except when I pressed it again and held it. He'd stop for as long as I held the button. Tried switching the states (simulate release when the button is pressed, press when released) and sure enough it worked fine. Except that doesn't make sense.

Finally, I noticed this in the key simulation code:
if(Press) KeyInput.ki.dwFlags |= KEYEVENTF_KEYUP;

What really annoys me is it used to be this:
KeyInput.ki.dwFlags = (some other stuff) | (Press ? KEYEVENTF_KEYUP : 0);

and I'd changed it suspecting it might be the problem without even noticing the big gaping hole in the logic. I swear some days my brain takes a long lunch.

(Of course, this doesn't explain the other various problems, but I bet they're no better.)

I hope you don't mean 20 thousand mph/kph above the speed limit.
