beyond meat was on sale—buy one, get one free—at the grocery store, so i bought a bunch and cooked one of the patties today with some leftovers. i haven't had it in a while, but it was really enjoyable. i still say i prefer it to actual meat, even now that i've gone back to eating meat. i'm excited to cook more things with it in the coming days, maybe.

i use it for all kinds of dishes, just whatever dish would otherwise use ground beef. yesterday i made a Japanese burger steak with a home-made katsu sauce. i also love making mapo tofu with it or spicy noodle dishes or fried rice dishes. you can of course have it in a burger, but i usually cook asian and have asian things at my disposal..

I had fried pelmeni just earlier, on sesame oil, spiced with paprika, a little chili, and marjoram (we have far too much marjoram). Served with sour cream with dill!

i agree with sofi, vegan meat replacements tend to actually just taste really good and add a lot of flavor, and tends to work out really well when cooked in the way i usually cook just using a lot of different stuff with it

although i feel they're likewise also really easy to mess up cooking? i tried having some sausages yesterday but i ended up messing them up really badly

anyways not really that and not at all right now but here's some of my cooking regardless
