Yeah, you already memtioned it, I just didn't know if it was the one you got. It does look pretty good, and I can kinda see where the PowerBook G4 comparison comes from. The bottom half looks like the 12" model, with the keyboard spanning the whole length.
It looks pretty nice, I have to say! And being 3:2 is always a plus.

i see what you mean, it's more the experience of using a 3:2 screen of that size with a light metallic body

if you're familiar with panasonic's line-up i think my comparison makes more sense. they're known for their robust designs, circular trackpads with ipod-like scrolling, and for having a lot of ports (including VGA, yes this even has a VGA port)

i do feel the laptop is a bit too light for my tastes, i think this is an issue with most modern laptops today unless they're `gamer laptops' (and then in that case the aesthetic doesn't appeal to me so much..). oh well, i'm sure i'll be nice to carry it

the keyboard is really nice and full-sized with good travel distance and springiness

I'm not at all. This isn't even the first time -- that was Windows 98 FE. And then there's the lock screen, which was meant to be for ads, like the Kindle Fire. It's why I prefer 95 and NT over 98 -- and FOSS over either. Still need to try FreeBSD...
