Picked up a Corsair K70 keyboard which, so far, I can't stand. It's too easy to press the wrong key, so I make typos all the time and activate weird hotkeys that I didn't know existed in every application that wants me to type anything.

I also picked up Anguna: Scourge of the Goblin King for the NES. A friend of mine programmed it and then got it released as a real cartridge with a box and everything, so I was required by law to purchase it.

Give this a go if you find that K70 won't work out for you.

Don't worry about the renewed part either. I've got a couple this way and one new. Never had issues with any of them and I'd much rather have a hundred bucks off retail cost.

This is if-and-only-if you require RGB though. Otherwise maybe look into Das.

Thanks! I need a TKL board because it's for my work desk which is too small. I don't really need RGB, either, but I had some store credit and some gift cards and managed to get this thing practically for free.

I've used Das Keyboards in the past and I really like them, except for the blank keycap version. I'm an adequate typist, but when I played a game and my hands weren't on the home row I was hopeless trying to find hotkeys.

I ordered an MNT Reform keyboard, but the ETA is, like, March, so it should come in right about the time I get used to this one

it's an ibm aptiva 2139-e5u, a pentium 2 machine. nothing super special, but...
im not gonna lie, my main reason for seeking it out was the visual aesthetic of the case.
so cool, and i love the periwinkle accents!
i finally found it at a reasonable price on ebay and i just jumped on it
luckily it was only coming from a state over, so it arrived safe and sound

my plan is to give the case a clean and image the hard drive before i do anything like starting it up
the seller did have it booted up and such before shipping it, but you can never be too safe

I had a black-colored one of these that I fixed a couple years back that ran Windows 95. The drive had failed. Put in something that would work in IDE (had to jumper it because the drive was otherwise too big for the motherboard to see), upgraded the RAM from 32 to 256MB and reinstalled W95 to the unit...with the disks they provided. They had the original disks for the unit in a manilla folder.

They basically needed it for old-style WordPerfect and it did the job.

It's a Lenovo Ideapad 330 (15IKB). I bought it from a relative for a cheaper price than buying it new. The only major issue is that the letter Q doesn't work, but every time you press a key on the upper row, then it types in the letter you want followed by a metric ton of Qs. I fixed it by installing Linux and doing some tinkering with xmodmap to remap the Q key to nothing, and remap AltGr+0 to Q.

I bought it so I could use it when I need to take a laptop to work (despite us still working remotely for now). Since I'll just be using it for web development and youtube videos at the most, it'll work well.

Specs:
- Intel Core i3-7020U
- 4GB RAM (upgradable to 16GB, which I'll do later)
- Intel Graphics 620
- 240GB SSD*

It currently has the replacement WD Green that I received after the previous one self-destructed (I should eventually put a different SSD in there, that said this laptop will not be used that frequently so I can wait a couple of months and it should be fine). There's a spare HDD that I'll be attaching to this laptop soon™. I need to set up a Windows 10/11 VM in it too.

I've seen quite a few of those come in. Not because they're bad but because of how ubiquitous they were for the price. Lot better than buying a 100/S series and basically having better than an HP Stream (which did nothing for you after a while).

I'd say if you spent under 400 bucks you did well. They're fairly modular and do pretty well for a general use laptop.

Oh, nice! I got it for $275 ( R$ 5.50 = $1, current exchange rate ), though I could have bargained for $220 but I didn't feel like it + wanted to help them too by paying "full" price.

Gotta say, that's nice to hear, because I happen to also have a Lenovo phone (Vibe K5) and this thing is almost worthless LOL. Though honestly I've had it for a long time now, it's still running Android 5, but damn how I have been disappointed by it through the years. I have been a little worried about how good this Lenovo laptop would end up being.

The Ideapad line isn't -great- but it's certainly not as bad as the Yoga line. In general, if you can find a cheap ThinkPad, out of all of them, you've done pretty well...though they do tend to be a bit bulky.

I gave a sixth-gen i7 T-series to my mother, can't remember the exact model, but I had an internal battery that I replaced and an external battery that I also replaced and made it an extended model. That thing had to be nearly a pound of batteries or more when I was done with it. Sucker was heavy. It would last 14-15 hours on a charge, though. Under heavy use. And the laptop was built like a brick shithouse...you weren't going to kill that any time soon.

It's a 7th gen Intel on that one though. 2017 model or so. Nothing new but nothing bad either. Though it is the weakest i3 of the line.

You can find some decent Thinkpads around that era on TigerDirect but I doubt you find one for less than around that 400-500 mark for that age.
