tbh i had a very good 2021 personally and i'm in a much better position now than i was at this time last year

so i understand where you're all coming from but hearing takes like "2021 was unequivocally bad and there was nothing good about it" not only feels like the recency bias, but also makes me feel a bit guilty like i should destroy my mental health by constantly taking in everything that's going on

guess my lesson is that you can always make a good space for yourself and focus on the things you can control, certainly helped me a lot

I'm somewhere in between. This has gone vastly better than 2020, and a lot of improvements have actually been made that are unprecedented or nearly so and have been wanted for a long time, but I'm also not out of the woods yet, time just keeps ticking, and a lot of other stuff has been very frustrating.



Actual income source again, which is good; better medication stability; gradually dealing with some medical stuff… but also, everything is still Everything and some of it is more so due to things that are hard to describe pre-coffee, and time, time just keeps ticking. z..z

just, im very much willing to balance the good against the bad;
and im not willing to simply sink into despair and stay there anymore.

anyways, for me, last year pingponged back and forth between horrendous and wonderful
and im choosing to value the wonderful far more heavily than the horrendous,
and try to reach out for more of it in 2022.

i wish i could say that 2021 wasn't that bad, but it got off to a bad start with my graphics card frying itself and then only got worse as it went on

maybe it's easier to have a more buoyant attitude about things for others but it's hard to think of a worse year, here

for me, 2020 was the year i became an adult and 2021 was the year i became a kid again. i think i prefer the former. but the past is the past, i'm going to try being an adult again this year.

i've spent the last two years living with my grandparents and it's gotten pretty damn boring being trapped in this suburb, so i'm moving in with my girlfriend across the country later today. this could make 2022 either terrific or terrible. let's see how it goes!

The whole year flew by me. It started with me wanting to leave my job and my boss somehow convincing me to stay for one more project (against my better judgement) because it wouldn't be that big or difficult. The year ended with my boss leaving and the one "little" project still not being done.
