In Labyrinth Zone in the 16-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, you can crash the game if you press down to pan the camera as you finish Act 1 or 2.

It's possible to win a match in Dissidia Duodecim in Break state. Even though you shouldn't be able to do any damage nor win in this way. Due to the funky way this situation sets up, though, it happens due to how HP and Brave damage works on collision.

In System Shock 2, the recreation deck of the first spaceship has a basketball court. Including a basketball that you can pick up and throw.

Due to bugs, it was also the limit of campaign progression until the multiplayer patch was released.

This is the only place this big fruit is in Wario Land, and it's in the first level by ID to boot:



It falls from the sky, you can stand on it (or be bumped off when it moves towards you) and it ends up in a bed of spikes, which destroys it. This never appears ever again.



There's evidence in the coding that they wanted to do more with it:
- When it reaches a solid wall, which never happens due to the bed of spikes, it just stops and can be picked up. It doesn't sound like much, but that's implemented as an unique actor (ie: the code pointer for the actor gets replaced).
- The fruit was also intended to stop when something is thrown at it, but the collision type that it uses specifically ignores anything that is thrown at it.
- There's also code which handles the fruit falling while underwater, which also never happens in-game. Fittingly, it makes it drop at the slow speed of 1px/frame, though it may be the result of copy/pasted code being actually used in other copies. For example, the spikeball which does fall underwater has extremely similar code, though that kills itself once it reaches a solid wall.

there is a ton of stuff in kirby's adventure that didn't get much done with that would get used for super star:

- variable hp and damage-- everything just is set to deal specifically 8 damage, and you always have 47 or 23 max hp
- a cannon that rolls downwards and rockets up, much like in a particular moment in revenge of metaknight. this was intended for 6-6 since the table for it specifies type 2 as its alternate cannon, but instead of placing the alternate cannon in the level they placed the normal one
- a seemingly rudimentary and non-functional elemental system, out of it only metaknight is inmune to anything that isn't the sword ability, and in earlier versions kracko and heavy mole can't be defeated with an ice attack


on that last one: kirby super star does actually have and use a fully functional elemental system, with resistances and weaknesses for a lot of enemies. it does also support immunities, although that is unused

In Halo 2, the easter egg Skulls print their names to the screen when collected, except for the Skull in the tutorial level. This is because, in the list of Skull name string IDs in the executable, the last entry (the Skull in the armory uses internal ID 14, the final of the 15 Skulls [zero-indexed] [though there's ram reserved for 16 Skull active booleans]) is unassigned, making it print a null string. Fans have called this Skull "Whuppapotamus" after a list of skull names found in mainmenu.map, though said list has a different Skull listed under the wrong name and this list wasn't localized... Upon rerelease in the Master Chief Collection, 343 Industries has dubbed the tutorial Skull "That's Just... Wrong", which comes from another Skull name list found in mainmenu.map which was localised and has all the correct used names.... though that list has sixteen skull names (two unused, if you're following along), and "That's Just... Wrong" is the sixteenth and final entry. The fifteenth entry, the other unused name, is "Cow Bell", which i believe was the intended name for the Skull given this particular Skull's effects - sets every noise the player makes (footsteps, melees, etc) to maximum volume for the AI hearing routines, effectively making every movement a clear position telegraph for every enemy, like you're wearing a big cow bell or something......

The only issue with this is that, in Halo 3, there is indeed a Cowbell skull, which is almost identical in function to Halo 2's Sputnik skull. It's the only renamed skull in the series, and the rename has carried forward to all future Halo games. I figure 343i chose the alternate name for the unnamed Halo 2 skull to ppossibly avoid confusion (though if it were up to me i'd rename all the "official" Cowbell Skulls back to Sputnik, and have the unnamed Skull be Cow Bell).

On the subject of Halo 3 Skulls, there are two of them in the story that unlock the same easter egg & achievement - one in the first level, Sierra 117, and another in Cortana. They both are treated as the Blind skull. Some mild digging into Halo 3's main menu files reveals that the one in S117 was actually intended to have the Assassins effect from Halo 2, but i guess they didn't have enough time to implement it. Eggs such as skulls have historically been some of the last things added to Halo in the bungie days, with the Halo 2 batch not being present in any form as late as five months before release!

And to cap it all off, there's even an early version of the Skull list leftover in the Halo 2, listing only 7 with descriptions: Assassins, Juggernaut, Nosferatu, Say What?, Hudless, Disembodied Soul, and Makeover. Assassins made it unchanged into the final list, Juggernaut became Thunderstorm, Nosferatu became Black Eye, Say What? became I Would Have Been Your Daddy, Hudless became Blind, Disembodied Soul became Acrophobia(?) and Makeover survived a little longer as That's Just... Wrong before ultimately getting cut.

Depending on how well you do in your run, you can fight an ox at the end of Fighter's History Dynamite to probably some of the most meta music from video games in 1994. There's a code to play as it too and if you win it screws up a few things, notably the text of who wins and the naming of 'Ox' since he wasn't officially part of the roster, instead calling him 'Big Tornado' from something that wasn't the announcer (it was actually glitched because that was the attack sound clip being called from Ray).
