Context:

Hirokazu Tanaka (Chip Tanaka) has recently released an album called Lost Tapes; with some of his unreleased/or borderline unreleased (such as demo music) tracks. I was just reading about it earlier. It only just recently released so I'm unsure if much documentation exists yet, although samples of some of the songs can be heard here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8v9gEf2hMg

In particular, and what encouraged me to make this thread; Forest of Illusion notes one of the "lost" songs was actually used as a Nintendo NES M82 demo kiosk theme.

Track 1 is an alt of the first pokemon anime opening
This one is not the same either, what's on the album is the demo tape for the song
While the melody remains the same, the instruments do not

There seems to be some unused mother themes though, from the sample they sound great"

Some of the games Hirokazu Tanaka has composed do seem to have unused tracks which are left in the final game (e.g. Chee-Chai Alien), so perhaps certain unused tracks ended up in the album?

Does anyone know anymore? Thanks. ^^

Don't have much to add, just...

1) The first track in the sample video on YouTube definitely sounds like an alternate/earlier take on the first Japanese Pokemon anime opening.

2) The photo of Tanaka used in the second half of the video (which is horizontally mirrored) shows an NEC PC-9801 RA or DA computer, while it looks like the EarthBound boot-up debug menu's sound test is shown on the monitor.

Oh wow! :o Thanks. I didn't know the EarthBound debug menu was shown on a NEC PC-9801 RA or DA photo.

Well, since something small has since surfaced but not much (in my bubble anyway) I figured it would be useful to make a list. I already added one of sorts to the NIWA NintendoWiki (which is really just the track lists and comments) but I figured I'd filter them out (not in the track order).

1. OP Type B2 - Definitely original Pokémon anime music - may be the Aim to be a Pokémon Master draft.
2. ED Type C - Original Pokémon anime music draft - the Hyakugojyuuichi song.
3. Glorious March demo is from the Nintendo Entertainment System (M82) demo unit, as forestofillusion has documented shortly after this album being new.
3. Space X (specifics unknown) - Still not very widely known but this is a cancelled Nintendo arcade game with audio by Hirokazu Tanaka from the 19th Amusement Machine Show. A Japanese site only recently brought it to the public web. The site itself sources the Amusment Press Shinbun; pages 11 and 12 of No. 176, November 1, 1981. https://www.onionsoft.net/wp/archives/3366 It would be worth acquiring those newspapers and for arcade lost media in general.
4. EarthBound (specifics unknown) - Other than the aesthetic similarities, the debug menu makes it more convincing.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
