Well, my current podcast game of choice is Phantasy Star Online 2. It's fun in the mindless slaughter everyone way.

Playing Animal Crossing New Horizons again. It is a fun game, just not the kind of thing I can play all day every day, like older entries in the series.

Started up Banjo Kazooie as a new podcast game since I got almost to the end but didn't beat the last boss.

I've been ping ponging through video games in an executive dysfunction induced daze, but I managed to blitz through a few chapters of Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch (PSP, JP. II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, if you'd will) over the past few days and I made it to the final dungeon a few hours back. JP because the US version simplifies the AI based real time battles into more basic turn based affairs. US also has a deplorable translation but I've played through most of Wild ARMs 2 Disc 1 and all of working designs lunar 1, I'm practically invincible.

Had to charge my Vita (Adrenaline, hoooo /lion-o) and I also had a splitting headache from only being able to get 4 hours of sleep (body's fucked up, been like this for days), so I'm taking a break before exploring Roudo Castle more. My Japanese is far from the best but I'm managing with what little I know, as well as the red ! event progression indicators above NPCs and such and using my patented "extract dialogue with Google Translate's camera feature, fix misconverted kanji with Jisho.org's radical lookup table if needed, then yeet it onto DeepL" technique.

The story is humble, but endearing. It's no FFVI or DraQue V tier epic, but you still get to like the characters Julio and Chris find in their travels, especially with the amount of dialogue the game has. It's a cute story about two little teenagers going on an adventure in order to mature, as they heed the words left in each country by the White Witch/the Moonlight Witch; each turning into them putting a stop to strife caused by evildoers, orchestrating behind the scenes, such as a benevolent sea creature suddenly causing death and despair amongst several seaside villages, to stopping a war between two cities caused over the disappearance of a queen. Also the DILFs in the game are really cute

I also started the Windows (thanks Perfect Dark, no credit card for now sorry) and Saturn (thanks Mednafen) versions sometime ago since they're pretty different. I'll try to go through them later on in a faster fashion since most of the dialogue is retained from PC98 and Win, and every other version. A Tear in Vermillion (LoH4, or I in the western PSP release, should you ignore the TurboGrafx-CD's Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes localization) might have to wait until I finish Summon Night (PSX, though I'm also replaying Swordcraft Story 1) and PoPoLoCrois Monogatari at least. I'll also have to finish Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes 1 MegaDrive sometime. Might try Trails in the Sky FC (basically LoH6 Part 1, but the Trails series have more or less taken over haha) again soon, I deleted it to focus more on other games, but it was a good time ^^

And Summon Night is taking forever, I'm taking care to grind boam to equip my characters properly and unlocking at least one "equippable" of each summon magic I can obtain (I loves me some RPG monster designs, how can I say no), and since the game is turn based tactics, that means long battles even with sufficiently leveled up characters to the point of cakewalk.

I'm also replaying Arc the Lad 2 and Mega Man 1 (PSX version, was curious). Beat Jumping Flash! the other week as well. I've grown too used to Aloha's faux German accent to enjoy his Japanese voice, but the MuuMuus sounded more adorable (as adorable as men doing dopey voices can be).

Following along with raocow's let's play, I've been playing Donkey Kong 64. I'm sitting at 101% right now, just need to beat K. Rool and I can be done with the game again. Ye gads its bad, fun in places but so bad.

I've also been slowly plugging away at Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age. I never finished it before so this is all a new experience to me.

Dinosaur Planet, or at least as much of it as I can on console. It's really good, imo better than Zelda.

Final Fantasy Adventure. The game is jank as hell but it's actually really fun and compelling.

I just finished playing through Omori after being recommended it, and wow. An amazing little RPG, albeit quite dark at times. It's much sadder and darker than what I'm used to, but I stuck through until the end because 2/3 of the game is so wholesome and adorable. Enemies are things like adorable bunnies, space oranges, ghost bread, and the like. All of the NPCs are wacky, colorful little doodles, and I love them. With so many hand-drawn animations and so much amazing music, it's no wonder it took six years to develop.

I've heard that the game has an entire second route with more content (akin to Undertale), but I'm satisfied with just a regular route. It took about 24 hours to beat, with plenty of exploration.

I recommend it, but only if you think you can handle the subjects (e.g. depression, suicide) that the game warns you about on the title screen. If not, I recommend at least checking out the soundtrack.

Somehow got into playing heavily modded Sonic Adventure 1/2

Beat sonic racing transformed and Adventure 2 with a mod that removes all non-sonic/shadow stages

Finished Final Fantasy Adventure. It was a fun time. Really weird game, but super charming, and fun. The later part of the game was a bit wild with the bosses, some were ridiculously easy, others really sucked and the only strategy I could find (because I couldn't avoid any attacks at all) was to just spam Cure.

So with that done, I'm moving on to Secret of Mana. I've played this game before, but barely. But I've owned Secret of Evermore since about the time in came out, and that's one of my all time favorites, so it's kind of strange I never got into Mana. I think it's because Evermore is a bit more polished?

Anyway, I'm not very far in Mana, but so far it's keeping the kind of janky charm that Final Fantasy Adventure had, but with a lot of quality of life improvements. I'm also enjoying the two player aspect with my wife!

Got the Mega Man X collection, and of course played through Mega Man X pretty quickly.

Then I started playing Mega Man X2, which I have never played before, and I gotta say... This is not as good as the first game. I mean, obviously the running and shooting is just as fun, and the the new robot masters Mavericks are fun and interesting, but I kind of feel like this game is actively punishing me for exploring. There are so many areas that end at a mysterious door that I can't figure out how to open, or just a complete dead end (I've since looked up what these were for, but how on earth would a person just find that?). I only found two of the upgrade capsules, despite being able to see where the others obviously were, but they were placed in areas that, instead of requiring some kind of fun mechanic to get to, relied on near frame-perfect jumps and dashes.
