a couple questions:

  • do you play any musical instruments? if so, which ones?

  • are there any that you want to learn?

  • if you don't play a musical instrument, which one would you be most likely to play?

i've alluded to this on other places on here, but i play The Guitar.

...i actually usually tend to play my acoustic in a strummy rhythm guitar player way, but i've started to branch out a little bit into playing electrics (i love this stupid little telecaster that i have) and actually playing scales and arpeggiation and high notes and note clusters and all that. or trying. anyway, i'm not amazing at guitar, but i can play serviceably well. enough that i could probably play a non-zero number of songs competently, which is further than i thought i'd ever get

i can kinda play bass, too (branching off of playing guitar) -- i spent a whole week working on my technique earlier this year (i.e. learning to play it like it's not just a guitar but lower, even though that's what it is), but it just kinda fell off for me and i haven't been playing it as much lately. i'd love to get back to it

i've been playing piano on and off, too... mostly off, lately, since i've found it difficult to get myself to play it with how little energy i've had. it's a lot of fun, actually, especially when you get good enough at a song that you can play it without really thinking, and it turns out being dexterous enough to type really well carries over a little more than you'd think... just a little, though, since it's a completely different set of keys and there's more simultaneous pressing. i'm absolutely terrible at using the pedals, though. just crap. i tend to over-rely on the reverb pedal too often instead of actually learning to sustain my notes properly like an idiot

there's a few other instruments i'd like to learn, too — i've always wanted to play the flute, actually, i think they're tonally just really neat and have more variety than people given them credit for. woodwinds are cool, my mom used to play clarinet. living in an apartment might make actually learning the flute difficult, though...

also this is slightly tangential but there are a jiblion old weird synthesizers i'd like to mess around with too. shit like omnichords and moogs and the ondomo are really cool to me

i've played guitar off-and-on for some 14 years now, and i have a couple keyboards but i don't mess with them all that much. i'd kinda like to get a bass at some point, but also another guitar i think, maybe an epiphone LP studio or something, upgrade from my lil $250 epiphone special II. beyond guitar, bass, and piano i don't think there's really anything else i'd like to learn, though.

I can sort of play the piano a tiny little bit. Like I can play some simple video game songs on it lol. I don't play it well though, and I haven't practiced in a while, but if I were to get back into music that's what I'd be practicing.

I play nothing. I don't have the spiritual fortitude to learn to do something, nor the money to even buy a crappy instrument.

I think if I could play something, I'd like to play sax, trumpet, or piano. Probably in that order.

I used to play baritone/euphonium during school, up until I graduated.
still have the mouthpiece, some sheet music, but not
an actual instrument, goodness no
instruments are expensive (also I don't have the privacy I need personally to actually play >.< )

aside from that, it's... just digital stuff..? yeah, that pretty much sums it up, I guess

always wanted to! would practice for 2 days and then completely forgot about it as i rubber banded to a completely different interest. might just not be my destiny. so i see people who can play instruments as heroes.

I've had an accordion, recorder, a toy keyboard, and a harmonica as a child. I want to go back to playing those instruments, but they've gone into the dumpster after my family started cleaning the house.

I'd like to learn how to use different synths and beats on the keyboard, play guitar, and the drums.

I've got a Fender Sonoran SCE the action is a bit high on, and a violin I've not played seriously in over 10 years. Eyeing a drum machine and MIDI controller, but life needs to stabilize a little first.

I was passable at violin, barre chords on the guitar defeated me.
