Oh, and if you don't mind answering some stupid questions...

Now that it's complete, what do you suppose was the most difficult game to get (Maybe which was most expensive and which was hardest to find if they're not the same)? What percentage would you say you were able to find boxes for? What's next for Rick? Super NES?

What about peripherals? Do you have all of those? Do you intend to get them all?

Oh my god, there's no stupid questions at all! Please, ask away!

***

It's a bit hard to say which one exactly is the hardest game to get. I've been doing this for 30 years, so even when the NES was a current gen, I was able to find stuff and find random stuff in stores, as Christmas presents, and at yard sales! I will say though that finding a copy of Pesterminator can be pretty tricky. If nothing else, it was SO DIFFICULT to even find an eBay auction for it!

The most expensive was definitely Little Samson. I picked that one up in December of 2013 for $600, before I moved (and was in a far better financial spot).

***

Boxes...hmm. I have a few but the percentage is rather low. Money has always been tight for me and all my expensive purchases I've had to save for months before buying, so getting CIB or ones with boxes was pretty tricky. I'd say in the single digits.

***

I have no desire to try to go for a full set of any other console after this because MY GOD what a lifetime journey. I don't need to spend another 30 years doing SNES games! I do wanna complete some various mini-collections though, so I'll be saving up a bit for Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X3 at the very least. I also wouldn't mind a copy of Gimmick on my Famicom too someday. Breath of Fire II is also a game I wanna get, as well as some Grand Theft Auto games.

EVERYBODY, IT'S OVER!!!

My collection is officially complete as of a few minutes ago. All I have to do now is wait for the game to arrive. I got Crystal Mines a bit earlier, then Super Cars, then the final game...

This has been such a lifelong journey that's been so important to me for three decades. Literally. Like, finishing the collection was always just such a thing, but it never really seemed...attainable? Like an always so small number, but such a big undertaking and now that it's finished just...I dunno, it's still extremely fresh, I legit don't know what to feel yet.

I guess I just drop this here for now;

Date of Game #1: June 1, 1990: Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Date of Game #2: June 13, 2020: Blues Brothers

---

(I won't be closing the thread yet. I'd like to re-work this into something in the near future yet, but I'm gonna spend some time basking in my glory and keeping my eye on the mail like a hawk.)

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
