I'd like to just get myself and my living environment a bit more together in general, and maybe get out a bit more. I've been going out and doing things and it's been liberating as all hell, but sometime I'd like to go somewhere outside the tri-state PA/DE/NJ area.

Happy decade-and-20 and stuff!

I didn't really have anything planned, but I suppose I can make a small list:

*Try to reorganise how I do social stuff, mostly by cutting out of cruft and not being on mastodon all day. It's sort of a disorganized mess that takes up part of it's time needlessly at the moment and I could use that to say, talk here more.
*Find places and storage for all my guff in meatspace.
*Connect more consistently with less active friends in stead of dropping them for months at a time.

For a probably incomplete goal list, well...
  • Being more indipendent from my parents. This is already in progress a bit, as I have a job and my own (small) car. However, when it comes to having my own house, among other things the income I currently earn would get a bit in the way...
  • Actually buying a NAS so I won't have to juggle backups manually through the different external HDs. I've been meaning to buy a WD one for the past year or so but haven't gotten around to yet.
  • Making an archive of certain things public and getting to work on its second half
  • Finishing a very very WIP disassembly (ha) of a game that's very close to heart and documenting absolutely everything unused on its tcrf article, which is a monumental effort

- Setting up a proper website for myself + server so I can host stuff there instead of relying on free hosts or Imgur.
- Continue learning programming and stuff. I'm doing decent enough currently, but again, there's a lot to learn.
- Learn ASM and more C/C++ and etc. so I can make programs and tools and stuff, not just web stuff.
- Graduate college (2021 hopefully). Not sure if I'm going to try anything higher like a Bachelors, Masters or etc. immediatelly after it, but maybe until the end of the decade I will.
- Gaining more independence from my father. As it is, I'm pretty close to this point already but there's still some details that will need to be ironed out, probably throughout this year or the next one. I could live in this house by myself and handle the income, barely (meanwhile, he wouldn't be able to live here by himself).
- Come out as bisexual. This is scary and I'm afraid of what might happen, particularly regarding my family and stuff (which is why I seek independence, if things happen to go disastrously).
- Related to the above, be more comfortable with myself and stuff. Identity, appearance, personality, etc. I already know more or less what path I need to take, I'm just afraid because of reasons already mentioned.
- Be more social. I'm already making quite a few steps towards this IRL, but online though, things could be better.

Most of these are short-term goals however, as in, they're to be solved in a couple of years really rather than an entire decade.

-Gain some sort of indefinitely sustainable autonomy, rather than the weird limbo I'm in now
-Make real music and a few other pieces of art, somehow, finally
-Proper grasp of FPGA design
-Become a good C programmer instead of a mediocre one
-Leave US if I can?

This is surprisingly slim... Guess the last decade tempered my expectations.

I'm really apprehensive about the decade, but we had the whole... bushfire thing. And I do not think that helped.

I'm trying to get treatment for ADHD (and help with Autism)

what i'd like to do more is just... live more. i want a consistent/stable income just so i can afford things i want and i want to learn to play more musical instruments and get better at the ones i know. i wanna continue and hopefully (insofar that it can be done) complete transitioning. i wanna get help for my various mental illnesses/neurodivergences (probable C-PTSD, definite autism and depression and anxiety), i made a lot of progress over the 2010s but i'm still not done.

yeah there's so much left over from the last few years that I really do hope I can work on and achieve in this new decade.


wanna actually learn a bit about how to make music. I've waffled around long enough on this wingin-it thing, it's starting to hurt me in the long run here.
I'm ready to buckle down and start doing it the right way.
(well, there is no real 'right' or 'wrong' way, I think it's just.. becoming less and less of the right thing for me.)

I used to draw, loooong before I ever cared about anything pertaining to music. then I started learning music, and excelled at that way faster than I ever was at drawing.
kinda quit after I graduated high school. would like to get back into that in some kinda way.

would also just like to, I dunno, do some general gamedev stuff? I have way, way too many ideas that just come up with absolutely no way of realizing them.

and if I could make good, stable money off of that then that'd be real neat.


and then there's just the whole, I'm trans and really wanna become a girl on all fronts besides just how I feel inside. it's been bottled up too long, I just want it out there.
there's... a lot of stuff that has to happen to start that, but, I'll manage it somehow.

there's probably more than that that I'm just forgetting. it's a generally decent all-around list tho, imo

I want to get back into being creative. I used to draw every day in high school (This did not make me any good at it) and in the ~15 years since, I've probably drawn as much as I did in high school. I also want to do more 3D modelling, because it is fun for me and not stressful.

Finally, like, maybe buy a house? If I can find one I don't hate?

ironically enough, the last item, the one I laughed at, is the only one that is covered for now, sorta. I did get my legal name changed, but I'm still getting an updated ID card, which I will need to continue updating things and then getting my gender marker changed (which is a different procedure because lol, if this was too simple obviously everybody would be trans, or something).

although I can say that the orchi part is underway but nothing planned yet due to the coronavirus shitshow.

I still have money (which I'm trying to keep for the orchi, dunno yet how much I will have to pay), I got some cool shirts and shoes that aren't crapoed, so that's sorta good too... even though I ain't done yet.

the one I should have aahahah'd at is voice training. basically I started the training with a trans-friendly orthophonist. all was good... then things went sour. basically, surprise, I lost faith in the training program, failing to see where I was going with this, not seeing any progress, not even being sure I was doing it right.

well, guess I'm stuck with a shitty voice that clocks me.
