Kyoto Animation, known as KyoAni, produces films and graphic novels, and is well regarded by fans for the quality of its productions.


Note: One of the injured victims died in the hospital after this article went live, increasing the death toll to 34.

weirdly enough, i already wrote about it on this forum.

the tl;dr is that i was pretty upset about it. k-on! and haruhi were both shows i loved as a teenager and to this day i still adore nichijou. not everything they did was great but there was a lot of love poured into their animation and it always showed.

i find it completely beyond any human understanding that someone would do something like that, period, but especially to an anime studio of all places. even if you hate their stupid fluffy moé bullshit or think they make terrible anime, who on this planet earth deserves to be subjected to some of the things that happened in that studio?
