- elvis costello & the attractions - my aim is true. meh... maybe this is a dumb opinion but i don't think it's aged that well; alison and watching the detectives are cool and all but the rest sounds like the same 50s throwback stuff that was popular in the 70s
yeah i feel this way about that album too. i thought it was really cool when i first heard it ten years ago but i can't really listen to it so much anymore. i don't even think alison is that good.

- the cardigans - first band on the moon. fun. cute. it's dated cheesy 90s pop, but it's fun and cute dated cheesy 90s pop. i think i'm predisposed toward liking anything that could be called "twee" as long as it's older than 2010 and not that ukulele glockenspiel white yuppie boy shit that started popping up around the turn of the decade
i always feel like they deserve more credit for making a new genre of twee, like everything that came out of Malmö after they came around sounds intensely inspired by them. i think it's because of how popular they got that this fact gets overlooked elsewhere
tbh i feel like the k-indie was what really picked up the torch from both shibuya-kei and twee into the 2000s (but everything after 2010, sigh)

- the avalanches - since i left you. bleh. it's dated and it has that like weird ... masculine cockiness underpinning it that i usually find off-putting. it's like the same aura that a lot of "standard issue" trip-hop has, esp massive attack and solo tricky
u know what, i hate to admit this but related thought, this is how i feel about post-Flipper's-Guitar Cornelius
