I recently bought a dreamcast and burned a ton of games for it. Jet Set Radio is incredibly fun. I also played a bunch of the Phantasy Star II port but lost my save file. Some of the lesser-known stuff in the Dreamcast's library like Elemental Gimmick Gear looks promising from the little while I've spent with it too. I've talked a bit about this elsewhere, but I still have long-term plans to try and make a G2 to PCI bridge for use with the NIC in the Dreamcast BBA (since the standalone PCI card is cheap and easy to find) -- hopefully targeting Lattice ECP5 or similar once NextPNR support is a little better. Any of the rest of you have favorite games on this or the Saturn, have done modding projects, etc.?

[also apologies if there was a prior thread about this, I don't think I managed to dig one up...]

I've had a Saturn for awhile; the ports of Fantasy Zone and Space Harrier are basically arcade-perfect as far as I can tell and are my favorite versions of those games.

the Shining series has a whopping six titles on the Saturn, but if rpgs aren't your thing, Street Fighter Zero Three is probably my favourite fighting game ever.. I often hear people recommend NiGHTS into dreams, but imo it's not a terribly great game at its core, more of a "hey look at the saturn doing 3D". in that vein i'm not sure if there's any great racing games on it either, at least in comparison to, say, wipeout on the ps1. i do like to plug Tomb Raider and Resident Evil though, since TR was a timed exclusive and RE has exclusive content to it, despite both being known as strong PS1 titles. dreamcast gets a lot more spotty for me, i really only use it for JSR and sonic adventure (and occasionally JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future).
i also have little to no experience with shmups, of which the Saturn does seem to have a lot of decent ones, so

I want a JP Saturn, while it doesn't have the personal nostalgia of the N64 or RPG library of the PS1 it has some amazing ports (many with unique modes and arranged music) as well as a good variety of original titles. My favorite games are probably Elevator action Returns, Shining series (can't pick one) and of course MSHvSF. The Saturn also has imo the best 2D controller ever made.

The Dreamcast also has some amazing titles, including Skies of Arcadia and the first 2 MvC games. Basically if you like shmups or fighting games you can't go wrong with either system.

I got a Dreamcast for the sole purpose of, more or less, Sega Tetris.

It's probably my favorite single player Tetris game.

As for other Dreamcast games, well... can't say I've played too many, but I want to give Giga Wing 2 a try someday. I enjoyed the first one quite a bit.

I had a Dreamcast but barely any games for it. Sonic Adventure, Sonic Shuffle, Crazy Taxi, Super Magnetic Neo, and some others. Right now it's just sitting in a bag in my living room.

The number of consoles I've interacted with is small (and biased towards Nintendo), but I do like the Saturn as a sort of cabinet of oddities? Maybe because the weirder titles on that systems get the most attention.

I mean, Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi are all you really need

I've been wanting to get into the Saturn lately, because it's just so quirky and lovable. However, the fact that most of the worthwhile games are only in Japanese is putting me off a little. I'd love to help try and translate games, but I don't know how Sega Saturn hacking works.

Most recently I've been playing Bulk Slash, which is a fun little 3D action game. I still haven't decided what to try after that, although [rul=https://www.racketboy.com/retro/meta-review-silhouette-mirage-sega]Silhouette Mirage[/url] looks interesting?
