I thought I had put some of my art in a thread at some point a couple years back, but a quick postsearch yielded no results... shame, I would've liked to compare with some of my older stuff heh.

anywho, this drawing took a couple days to finish.

Thanks! And it's not too hard to forget the day for me, 'twas also super bowl sunday (saints vs patriots, saints won) and also the day I got Brawl and Pokemon Platinum, heh.

For the sake of comparison, an example of my art style from threeish years back:



I admit lately I've been trying to imitate someone's art style since I think it's simply fantastic, though with only moderate success. Shading really trips me up ^.^;

Me still wishes to have a tablet, as drawing with a mouse is what's keeping me from making digital art. That should have made up for the horrible scanner quality. :(

Speaking of scanner quality, did you have any problems when scanning drawings?

Not really.. My hand-(paw?-)drawings are almost always pretty light to begin with, so I eventually started tweaking the contrast after scanning to make them look more "normal" and visible, that example being before that. Other than darkness, I've never really had any issues with scanners or scanner quality. There've been a few occasions more recently where I've had to take pictures of my drawings with my phone due to a lack of scanner. Which just reminded me of these two:

Just finished up another image, this one being of Luca's character Lila. Went for a simpler, cartoony cell-shade instead of my bad attempts at realism (look at the shading of the snout at the first picture, doesn't match light source for the rest of the body >.> ) and i think it turned out pretty well :3
