What the winter cold has over summer heat is that you can generally escape it at home. Freezing outside? Inside won't necessarily be hot, but you can manage pretty well with a vest. 27C+ outside? Inside's just slightly less torment.

I doubt I'll ever really understand people who choose "too hot" over "too cold".

Unfortunately I found my lower back still gets awful cold feelings last winter, so I'm not looking especially forward to things.

I used to feel the same way — I've learned that some people just aren't that cold-tolerant... I feel like my cold tolerance is going down over time, even, although whether that's from getting older, estrogen, or just getting sick of Colorado's stupidly long winters, I couldn't tell you.

Spring and Summer are pretty much the tolerable ones. My physical disabilities make my joints hurt during the cold months.

i think i prefer spring, i just wish it lasted way longer than it does.

i love the rain, and the temperature it is during spring is perfect for me. i have some allergy issues during spring, but i think i have more in autumn (as well as issues with things like dry throat)

i have pretty low heat tolerance so i overheat pretty fast in summer, sometimes even getting pretty nauseous from how warm it is. winter is kind of okay, i prefer the cold over the heat to an extent, but i get sick every winter. once this year already i've got sick with something everyone else in the house was able to fight off pretty easily, but i wasn't able to because i kind of have a weak immune system

spring and autumn are my absolute favorites
autumn is so beautiful if you catch it at the right time,
the sunlight passing through trees full of colorful leaves is delightful

i also love the drizzly gloom of late winter/early spring
most people don't want to be out in it,
so it's a lot more peaceful than usual outside
drizzle and cloud makes for such atmospheric photography
and at night, when street lamp hits rain-damp pavement...
it's one of the most beautiful things.

the only season i detest with a passion is summer.
i'm biased because i'm fat, but it's so miserable.
every day it's over 80 degrees or the humidity is over 60%...
i want to sleep through it, and wait for greener pastures.

Summer. Without a doubt.

The rest of the year, when it dips below 21c, my body just... hates it.

The air is dry, and cold dry air is a pain in the arse to breathe. Even worse, it makes it impossible for me to exercise outside.
When I try to exercise outdoors, with that cold air, what happens is that my lungs feel like they're burning. Like there's needles going through my entire respiratory system. Even if it's 21c, this can happen.

And clothes. Having to always wear pants, shirt, and a jumper gets uncomfortable quickly. It gets smelly, and messy, and all-round shitty.
To compound that, washing is annoying. So much more clothes to wash, and using the mechanical clothes dryer is expensive. So you've got to dry the clothes indoors. Which requires the use of the heater. Which takes forever to dry.

On top of that, the heater in the house absolutely mauls my respiratory system. All that hot dry air, going through the ducted heating... I'd actually rather deal with just freezing my ass of indoors. Unfortunately, I live with other people.

On top of this, all the cold air means I need to drink a lot of water. Because it's all dry. And it means that when I sleep for eight hours, I've generally slept like shit because I've not drunk any water, am dehydrated, and am feeling uncomfortable due to all of the sheer cold.

Again, this is what happens to my body when the daytime temperature is below 21cish, and nighttime below 10c.

So the end result of a Winter is that I'm incapable of sleeping, I'm dehydrated, my brain and body is perpetually exhausted, and there's no sunlight.
And as a side effect, my body feels a requirement to sleep in further into Winter - Which just reduces the amount of sunlight I get even more.

And as yet another note - I love to go running and exercising outdoors. But I need to do that in shorts to avoid overheating my body. And compounding that with the whole "Piercing Lungs" issue mentioned earlier...

So... yeah.
Summer is my favorite season. By a long wide margin.

If I won the lottery, I'd probably choose to live somewhere in Queensland for the Winter, and stick around Melbourne for the Summer.

It's a tie between summer and fall for me.

As several other posters have stated in this thread before me, summer in the PNW is very good.

But there's something about fall -- maybe it's the red-and-yellow color scheme, the leaves falling, the weird but cozy-feeling dark blue sky that appears for about a week and doesn't come back until next year -- that just gets me. It's not as cold or depressing as spring/winter, but it's not nearly as hot as summer.

Despite me staying inside 90% of the time to use the computer like a weirdo, I think I have some form of seasonal affectiveness disorder, so even just seeing the blue sky outside makes me feel a teeny bit happier. A teeny bit. So that's why I like summer.

Winter is only good if it snows. Which is a bit of a crapshoot up here. (Fuck rain, though. I don't get why everyone else likes it so much. I don't like getting my hair wet... (although, I will admit, hearing the rain from inside is nice.))

Spring is eh. I don't hate it, but over here it just feels more like Winter Lite, so.

Usually summer, to be honest. I don't mind the heat, whereas cold temperatures are annoying usually. Spring and Fall tend to be annoying with deciding how to dress (cold mornings, warm/hot afternoons), so summer wins for me.

I'm developing a real appreciation for autumn as I get older and the planet's weather gets weirder. But I used to really enjoy summer, and I have pretty good tolerance for heat. On the other hand, I have very poor tolerance for cold.
