| Arpeggios in C64 tunes tend to disrupt the flow of the track I'm listening to, rather than smoothly integrating themselves into the track in a seamless manner.
Some tracks pull it off. Most don't. |

| That giant robot fight, the one that was hugely hyped up with those mecha-style robots between USA and Japan would have been a lot more affordable and worked out better if they stuck to a smaller weight class, and didn't stuff humans inside the machines.
Something akin to the "Superheavyweight Walker" category the BattleBots TV series use to have - about 230 kilograms. Instead, there's barely any mecha robots, the whole concept's too expensive to run, and we only got one underwhelming fight from the whole thing. An aside note - About the only reason the more conventional robotic combat scene lacks Superheavyweights nowadays is because of the cost required for the arenas. The robot-arena arms race finally obsoleted the existing arenas. All the money raised for the mecha fight could've helped go towards a suitable arena for giant walking mecha Superheavyweights. Hrmm. |

i just realized that my activity level has been... not high? but consistent, lately. which in turn made me realize that i don't really have the weird... logjam with posting that i had anymore
it's actually really nice. i never feel like i'm obligated to post, but at the same time i can just... post if i get a thought or something i wanna say fun stats: i made 16 posts in 5 years, which averages out to 3.2 posts per year. it wasn't because i didn't want to participate or because i was distracted by social media, it was literally because i just... felt this weird gap between me and posting, like anytime i'd try to post i'd just freeze up. for 5 years. i had unmedicated depression for that whole time, so that probably didn't help ____________________ |

back when I joined Jul was during the time you barely posted anything, I still remember asking if I could borrow your old layout because I knew a total of zero CSS, and my anxiety was going like "i'm probably going to type something stupid. i hope i'm not bothering them". messing with that post layout is probably what made me learn HTML/CSS now that I think about it.
I honestly thought that you had left Jul along with most people from the Acmlm era, but I'm glad that you didn't and that you're still here!
