When a picture takes around 5MB, it's not too hard to reach that number, especially when you're trigger happy with the camera button.

Also: finally updated the Malware folders with new samples after about a month. I kept forgetting to do so.

Not being able to sleep well really sucks, thinking about it. I might very well end up falling asleep at my laptop (again).

I've had a hard time sleeping lately, mainly due to neckpain + headaches.

I actually fell asleep with my laptop next to me last night as a matter of fact

I consider myself very lucky to have very little sleep issues. Maybe with uni starting again though, I might run into the problem of wanting to stay up too late again.

I actually got to sleep last night! All my sleep problems are because of a 14 month old tiny human though. He decided we'd sleep last night, I guess!

I wish I could get to sleep easily. I'm again not having an easy time sleeping, twisting and turning in my bed until I finally fall asleep.

I've been getting to bed at around 1:30–2:00am ever since I got let go from work a month ago. It probably would be a good idea for me to try to get back to sleeping around 12:30–1 again at least, especially once I get a job again.

It's always interesting to see where your sleep schedule lies when you aren't tied to an alarm clock; mine tends to drift towards going to bed at 2-3 in the morning and waking up around 10 to 12. I feel a lot better on days when I can do that, and a lot worse on days where I have to have a "normal" schedule...

On alarm clocks, I'm just surprised at how much nicer it is to wake with a light that automatically turns on (slowly) instead of BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. It's a bit of a gentler process.

Alarm clocks on the other hand… well, there's the whole BEEP BEEP BEEP or other chime, or you can program it to play a song and then you can come to hate that song, or you can put on the radio and hate everyone involved in radio forever…

I can't use daylight because I'm one of those weirdos who can fall asleep even with the lights on, and I'd get woken up at 6 in the morning when the sun starts to come up in summer. The one thing I've found that works usually okay is having my phone be the alarm clock, and leaving it on my bed. Let it buzz until it wakes me up, or start playing some music until I do so. The app I've used in specific is "Sleep As Android" or whatever it's called now. It tries to guess the best time to wake you up before your alarm goes off based on how much you're moving around (and therefore, your sleep cycle).

This doesn't work very well when you're a natural tosser-and-turner, or you have someone else on the bed with you, for obvious reasons. I ended up turning that off because I prefer to get as much sleep as I can

Sounds lazy, probably, but my average is less than 6 hours a night, so every minute helps...

Waking up is probably the number one thing that screws with me during school and the like. My brain doesn't process urgency of events or make any kind of value judgements until almost an hour after I wake up unless I'm very afraid of something happening that day, so more often than not I'm nearly late because all I can think on waking up is "ah, who cares really"...

I wish I knew a solution to that that didn't involve slamming cold brew from bed.

Why shouldn't the solution involve that...?

Valid point...

I hate buying an entire bag just to use it on cold brew, though. I should get some caffeine pills again, maybe. Regardless, I can definitely sympathize with the general idea of sleep being a mess.

The worst is when you're so tired that you're too tired to sleep, which is what happened last night to BMF. Not even second-wind style waking up, but just laying around feeling like shit.

I know because I had to be awake at 6 in the morning and he was still awake, too

oh man I love this
that feeling of "okay I should go to bed" but you just don't have the energy to move so you just pass out wherever at some point

it's all too common.

Yeah, I hate when that happens because I get those moods when I have to be up early and then I can't sleep due to unrelated factors out of my control.

Alternately, dreaming you're at work.

It's fun when you have to wake up for work, but you roll over and go back to sleep because you think you're at work

One of my worst mornings went something like this:

1. dream about getting ready for work
2. dream about getting to work late
3. dream about waking up late and telling family about previous dreams while getting ready for work
4. wake up too early

I'm lucky in that I've only had one or two dreams ever that involved a false awakening, and the only one I can remember wasn't bad, just weird.

Dreaming about work is the worst, though.

kazinsal@araxes> show file jul:/posts/kazinsal/612

I have recurring dreams, which is really odd, because generally they aren't frequently recurring. Tonight I had a dream that I haven't had in several *years*, but it went more or less exactly as I remember it.
